    摘要： A method controls tub oscillation in a drum type washing machine by utilizing a ball balancer. The method includes maintaining an rpm of a drum in a predetermined rpm level for a predetermine period of time during a dehydration operation, thereby reducing a differential rotation speed between the drum and a ball, and re-increasing the rpm, such that the tub is not subject to the oscillation that is greater than a predetermined level. The drum type washing machine adopts a single race having different ball sizes and viscosities, so that the manufacturing cost of the washing machine is reduced. The tub is prevented from being subject to oscillation greater than a predetermined level through precise calculation.

The number of rotations of a motor is maintained at a designated number before excessive vibration of a tub occurs for a designated time in order to prevent excessive vibration of the tub before balls reach a balancing position. The method includes sensing the number of rotations of a motor; determining whether or not the sensed number of rotations of the motor reaches a designated number of rotations by comparing the sensed number of rotations of the motor with the designated number of rotations; and controlling the motor such that the number of rotations of the motor is maintained at the designated number of rotations when it is determined that the sensed number of rotations of the motor reaches the designated number of rotations.

The control method includes detecting the number of rotations, determining whether the detected number of rotations has reached a predetermined number, controlling the motor such that the number of rotations is maintained at the predetermined number of rotations when it is determined that the detected number of rotations has reached the predetermined number, counting the time taken to maintain the number of rotations at the predetermined number of rotations, and increasing the number of rotations after a predetermined first time has elapsed.

    摘要： A washing machine in which steam and hot water are supplied to heat wash water. The washing machine includes a water tub for containing wash water, a steam generating unit for heating water supplied thereto, thereby generating steam, a water supply unit for supplying water into the water tub and the steam generating unit, a steam supply unit for supplying the steam generated from the steam generating unit into the water tub, and a hot water supply unit for supplying hot water from the steam generating unit into the water tub. In the washing machine, the temperature of wash water can be rapidly increased in accordance with steam and hot water supplied into the water tub. Accordingly, it is possible to reduce the overall wash time while reducing the amount of wash water to be used. The energy consumed to heat the wash water can also be reduced.
