摘要: Systems and methods of providing a NPRACH preamble in a multefire system are described. A UE configured for multefire NB-IoT or eMTC operation receives, from an eNB, access information that includes a SIB on a narrowband channel of an unlicensed band. Based on the access information, the UE transmits a NPRACH preamble in two or six contiguous uplink subframes. The NPRACH preamble is transmitted in two or six contiguous subframes. When two subframes are used, four symbol groups each having a 266.7 μs CP and two symbols are transmitted without a gap therebetween. When six subframes are used, four symbol groups each having a 266.7 μs CP and five symbols are transmitted without a gap therebetween.

In an embodiment, an apparatus for a user equipment (UE) includes a memory interface and a processor. The memory interface is operable to receive a configuration of a frame from a memory, the frame is to be used for communications in a Narrow Band Internet of Things (NB-IoT) system in a sub-1 GHz band, wherein the frame includes one or more anchor channels and one or more data channels. The processor is operable to encode uplink (UL) communication data for a base station or decode downlink (DL) communication data from the base station based on the configuration of the frame.

摘要: Systems and methods of using a frame structure by a NB-IoT UE are described, The UE receives an anchor segment on an anchor channel and a data segment on a data channel both in an unlicensed spectrum. If a 3N1 frame structure is used: a NPSS, NSSS and NPBCH are in a highest index anchor carrier of contiguous anchor carriers and SIB in a lowest index anchor carrier, and if a 3N2 frame structure is used a single narrowband carrier comprising the NPSS, NSSS, NPBCH and SIB. The data channel is a FHSS single carrier other than the anchor carriers if the 3N1 frame structure is used and the single narrowband carrier if the 3N2 frame structure is used. A NPDCCH or NPDSCH is received on a middle index anchor carrier or in the data segment. The NPSS overrides a TDD configuration indicated by the eNB.

摘要: An apparatus and method for CSI reporting in the unlicensed band are described. CRS-RSs are transmitted from a RAN in narrowband data channels in the unlicensed band to an eMTC UE. The UE determines the CQI and PMI from the CRS-RSs and transmits a periodic CSI report to the RAN that contains the CQI and PMI. 摘要: An apparatus and method for frequency hopping in the unlicensed band are described. A NB-IoT UE receives a MIB from a RAN. The MIB includes a DL/UL configuration for communication with the RAN. Frequency hopping information is preconfigured in the UE. The MIB is received in an anchor segment of a fixed NB anchor channel in the unlicensed band. The frequency hopping sequence is determined based on timing information carried in a PBCH on the anchor channel. Data is communicated between the NB-IoT UE and the RAN in data segments on the data channels in accordance with the frequency hopping sequence.

摘要: Embodiments of an Evolved Node-B (eNB), a MulteFire narrowband internet-of-things User Equipment (MF NB-IoT UE), and methods of communication are described herein. The eNB may transmit an unlicensed narrowband primary synchronization signal (U-NPSS) in a plurality of subframes. The eNB may, for the U-NPSS, for each subframe of the plurality of subframes, and for each of the orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) symbols of the subframe: repeat a sequence of length-11; and map the sequence to 11 resource elements (REs) of a physical resource block (PRB) of 12 REs. The eNB may process the U-NPSS by an orthogonal cover code (OCC) over the plurality of subframes. The sequence in each of the OFDM symbols of each of the subframes of the plurality of subframes may be multiplied by a different element of the OCC.

摘要: Techniques discussed herein are related to Long Term Evolution (LTE) operation in unlicensed spectrum in MulteFire, specifically the Internet of Things (IoT) operating in unlicensed spectrum. One example embodiment can be an apparatus configured to be employed in a User Equipment (UE), comprising: a memory interface; and processing circuitry configured to: perform an initial access to a network over one or more of three dedicated anchor channels; communicate data over a master set of data channels using frequency hopping from one data channel to another data channel of the master set of data channels, wherein a hopping sequence is based on whether or not a carrier sensing procedure succeeds over available ones of the set of data channels; enable a Multi-Carrier Operation (MCO) by defining and allowing transmissions over a new set of data channels different than the master set of data channels; and send the data to a memory via the memory interface.

摘要: The disclosure provides design of a frequency hopping sequence for an unlicensed IoT system operating in unlicensed spectrum. According to some embodiments, an apparatus for generating a frequency hopping sequence in an unlicensed Internet-of-Things (IoT) system includes baseband circuitry to generate a frequency hopping sequence by conducting a permutation operation based on a physical cell identifier (PCI) and a system frame number (SFN), and to select a channel within an unlicensed spectrum according to the frequency hopping sequence. In some embodiments, the input of the permutation operation is obtained from the SFN or from the SFN and the PCI. In some embodiments, the control of the permutation operation is a function of the PCI and/or the SFN. In some embodiments, the control of the permutation operation is generated using a pseudorandom number generator with the PCI as a seed.

The RF interface is to receive the data sequence from the one or more processors.
