Abstract: A charging apparatus and charging method. The apparatus includes a step-current adjustment circuit and an inertial link circuit. The step-current adjustment circuit is configured to determine a first current value based on a charging current condition, and provide a current of the first current value to the inertial link circuit, where the charging current condition includes a temperature and a charge state of the battery, and determine a second current value based on a present charging current condition and in response to the charging current condition changing, and provide a current of the second current value to a current smoothing module. The inertial link circuit adjusts the charging current from the first current value to the second current value in response to the received charging current being converted from the first current value to the second current value, and continuously outputs the adjusted current to the battery.
