Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure provide a load control method and device for a wireless communication system. The method includes: when a load of a first communication system is higher than a set threshold value, the first communication system sends an overload notification message to a second communication system (21); the second communication system stops sending a message to the first communication system or sends a message of a specific priority and/or a specific type to the first communication system according to indication information in the overload notification message (22). By adopting the embodiments of the present disclosure, when the first communication system is overloaded, the second communication system stops sending the message to the first communication system or sends the message of the specific priority and/or the specific type to the first communication system according to the indication information in the overload notification message.
