Abstract: A wire bridge monitoring system includes a wire bridge (18) and a monitoring device (22, 24). The wire bridge (18) is used by a technician (20) during servicing an electrical or electro-mechanical installation (1) to bridge a component of the electrical or electro-mechanical installation (1). The wire bridge (18) has an electronic identification device (26) configured to transmit a radio signal (21) comprising an identification number of the wire bridge (18). The monitoring device (22, 24) has a transceiver (28, 37), a memory (23, 41) and a processor (31, 39). The transceiver (28, 37) receives the radio signal (21) transmitted by the electronic identification device (26) when within a predetermined radio range, and the memory (23, 41) records use of the wire bridge (18). The processor (31, 39) monitors if the wire bridge (18) is within the predetermined radio range, and generates an alarm if the wire bridge (18) is not within the predetermined radio range and the wire bridge (18) is recorded as being in use.

Abstract: An elevator monitoring system includes a monitoring controller for communicating with a remote monitoring installation. The monitoring controller has a signal input for connecting the monitoring controller to a sensor system of the elevator monitoring system. The sensor system includes a first sensor module for determining a state of an elevator controller of an elevator system monitored by the elevator monitoring system, and a second sensor module for determining movement information of the monitored elevator system. The sensor system combines an output state of the first sensor module and an output state of the second sensor module into a single output state by a logical AND operation and provides this single output state as an input for the signal input.

Abstract: A method for inferring a health status of call devices in an elevator arrangement uses a monitoring device for implementing the method steps of: determining elevator usage information by detecting: changing of an opening status of an elevator door, interrupting of a light curtain at an entry to an elevator car, and/or changing of a weight of the elevator car; determining elevator travel information concerning a starting floor and/or a target floor for an elevator car motion taking place antecedent or subsequent to the detected elevator event; inferring the health status of a monitored one of the call devices based on the elevator usage information and on the elevator travel information. The method allows determining the health status of call devices such as car call devices and hall call devices with a reduced number of sensors.
