Abstract: A product management system manages products that are a food and have print surfaces. The product management system has an inspection unit, a first information acquisition unit, and a storage unit. The inspection unit performs an inspection of the products and outputs inspection results as to whether the products are conforming products or nonconforming products. A plurality of pieces of same individual identification information are printed on the print surfaces of the products. The first information acquisition unit reads the individual identification information from the products. The storage unit associates and stores, with the inspection results, the individual identification information that the first information acquisition unit has read.

Abstract: A bag-making and packaging apparatus, for forming a bag containing a packaged article from a conveyed packaging material, is disclosed. The apparatus includes a printing part, first and second receiving parts, and a retaining part. The printing part prints information on the packaging material. The first receiving part is used in a first mode to print on the packaging material during conveyance without stopping conveyance. The second receiving part is used in a second mode to print on the packaging material at a timing when conveyance of the packaging material is stopped. The retaining part retains the first receiving part or the second receiving part so that the first receiving part and the printing part face each other with the packaging material disposed therebetween in the first mode, and the second receiving part and the printing part face each other with the packaging material disposed therebetween in the second mode.

Abstract: A bag-making and packaging apparatus creates one product per cycle by packaging articles in a bag made from a film. The bag-making and packaging apparatus includes a longitudinal sealing mechanism, a guide, an article sensor, a transverse sealing mechanism, a cutting mechanism, and a prediction unit. The guide guides the articles which fall from above into a film tube. The transverse sealing mechanism forms a transversely sealed part in the film tube with each cycle. The cutting mechanism cuts the film tube in the transversely sealed part with each cycle. The prediction unit predicts whether or not jamming of the articles could occur in the transverse sealing mechanism on the basis of an output of the article sensor with each cycle. When the prediction unit has predicted that the jamming could occur in a certain cycle, the cutting mechanism does not cut the film tube in the certain cycle.
