Abstract:
A roll of material, e.g., thermoplastic ribbon comprises a hollow core made of a plastic strip of which the ends are mutually joined by overlapping, and the core's outer surface facing the material to be wound being of a nature opposing slippage of the material on it. The plastic strip includes an adhesive-coated foil of which the adhesive-fitted surface forms the outer core surface facing the material. The first winding layer facing the core bonds to this core and, as a result, the finished roll is made mechanically strong and this strength can be enhanced by an adhesive-coated plastic foil tautly enclosing the outside of the roll and fitted with a projecting, adhesive free or adhesive-neutralized tear-open tab.
Abstract:
A roller device has a bearing axle and a wheel rotatably mounted to the axle in a roller housing. A lifting device is connected to the axle and wheel and is movable to raise and lower the wheel out of and into a travelling plane. A supporting device is fitted to the lifting device and has a support area lowered onto the travelling plane in response to rotation of the lifting device. The lifting device comprises a pair of eccentric discs which are mounted at both ends of the bearing axle and are connected thereto in a rotationally fixed manner. One of the discs engages in a form locking manner a corresponding recess in a side plate of the supporting device and at least one of the discs has two spaced apart spiked surfaces which can be rotated with the disc about the bearing axle in opposite directions against a stop protrusion on the side plate to thereby raise and lower the wheel. In this manner, in the raise position of the wheel, the supporting device provides stationary support for the roller disc and a load supported thereon by contacting a support surface. In the lower position of the wheel onto the travelling plane, the roller device and load supported thereon are rotatable relative to a supporting surface.
Abstract:
The invention concerns a process and a device for avoiding interruptions of operation caused by the strapping, on machines for the strapping of packing elements. The process is characterized by a second strapping coil with further strapping, and in that the leader of one of the two strappings is constantly kept at a standby position in the machine from which, upon removal of the other strapping from the strapping guideway, it is automatically fed to the strapping guideway. The device is characterized in that the feed system is preceded by a switch with two strapping guideways for a leader section for each one of the two strappings, with a strapping feed for the alternative introduction of one of the two strapping leaders into the feed system. A first drive system is provided within the vicinity of the strapping guideways for selectively introducing one of the strapping materials into the feed system, while a second drive system is provided within the vicinity of the supply coils of the strapping materials for selectively engaging one of the supply coils in order to retract or withdraw a damaged or depleted strapping material from the feed system and permit a second one of the strapping materials to be introduced into the feed system.
