    摘要: The present invention detects whether an initial mobile number assignment is suboptimal, resulting in excessive roaming. If excessive roaming is encountered, the telematics service provider determines the effective home area of the telematics unit and assigns an appropriate replacement number to the unit. In this way, the disclosed principles allow a telematics service provider to decrease its roaming charges, and/or those of its users, and more optimally manage its mobile phone number assignments.

    摘要: The described system and apparatus facilitate the identification, on a per rate center (Npa Nxx) basis, of a best carrier rate center for a wireless subscriber, and also allow detection of errors in a provider's local inventory or in performance reference data. In one aspect, carrier performance data is combined with updated available inventory data via a SIT environment to create a correlated array of rate centers relative to service record and orderable carrier rate center inventory. The described system thus provides improved ordering and forecasting compared to existing systems, and can thus also provide enhanced customer satisfaction and a decrease in customer calls for HFC number change.

    摘要: Systems and methods for updating information in an electronic calendar are disclosed. One example of the method includes recording a voice-tag memo via an in-vehicle telematics unit, the voice-tag memo containing information related to a calendar appointment, a calendar contact, or combinations thereof. The voice-tag memo is then converted into text via a speech-to-text unit in operative communication with the in-vehicle telematics unit. The method further includes determining, via a calendar comparator of an Internet-enabled program hosting the electronic calendar and in operative communication with the speech-to-text unit, which calendar appointment, calendar contact, or combinations thereof the voice-tag memo is associated with; and uploading the text to an appropriate cell of the calendar. The appropriate calendar cell is selected based upon which calendar appointment and/or calendar contact has the voice-tag memo associated therewith.

    摘要: The invention provides a method and system for communicating between a telematics call center and a telematics unit. A service communication is initiated from a telematics unit to a telematics call center responsive to user input. A text-based acknowledgment is received at the telematics unit from the call center in response to the initiation. A communication mode is established based on communication preference data in response to the acknowledgement. The method and system further comprises providing the communication preference data to the call center.
