Abstract: A backlight unit and a display device including the backlight unit are discussed. By arranging at least one electronic element for driving a light source and the backlight unit on a surface where the light source is disposed in a printed circuit and arranging a pattern having a reflective characteristic in an area where the electronic element is disposed, an image quality of the backlight unit can be maintained and a design structure of the backlight unit can be simplified. In addition, the light source and the electronic element can be disposed on a same surface of the printed circuit so that a space is not present between an opposite surface of the surface of the printed circuit where the light source is disposed and a cover bottom, so the performance of a heat dissipation can be improved in an area where the light source or the electronic element overlaps.

Abstract: A backlight unit for a display device includes a light path control pattern disposed over a light source and including portions having different types of reflective characteristic and a reflective layer disposed on a substrate where the light source is mounted and including portions having different types of reflective characteristic, a light guide distance of a light emitted from the light source can be increased and a light uniformity can be maintained, so that as a light can be supplied to each area evenly while increasing a distance between the light sources and reducing the number of the light sources, an image quality of the backlight unit can be enhanced.

Furthermore, by disposing a sheet increasing an amount of a vertical light on the color conversion sheet, a wavelength band of a light reflected by a filter disposed on the color conversion sheet is controlled exactly and the backlight unit and the display device capable of a wide color gamut may be provided.

Abstract: Provided are a light guide film, a backlight unit, and a display device. Light guide portions are disposed in holes of a reflection plate on which light sources are disposed, and a light guide film is directly disposed on the reflection plate and the light guide portions to provide a light guiding function and a light shielding function. Therefore, a method of facilitating implementation of a backlight unit with a small thickness, which satisfies image quality is provided. Further, each of the light shielding patterns has different reflectances in different areas, thereby increasing the amount of light supplied to an area between light sources. Therefore, a backlight unit with a reduced number of light sources and improved image quality may be provided.
