Abstract: Disclosed are a broadcast receiving apparatus and a method for operating the same. A broadcast receiving apparatus according to an embodiment of the present invention includes an interface to access an electronic device that stores home screen information including a background image and a plurality of execution items, and to receive the home screen information from the electronic device, a controller to scale at least one of the background image and the execution items of the received home screen information, and a display to display a home screen including the scaled background image and execution items.
