Abstract: A load balancing mechanism for controlling concurrent operation of a pair of latches of a vehicle via a respective pair of links connecting the pair of latches to an actuator, the actuator for sharing by the pair of latches, the load balancing mechanism comprising: a housing for connecting to a body of the vehicle; a lever mounted to the housing at a pivot such that the lever is pivotable about the pivot; an actuator mounting point on the lever connecting the lever to the actuator, the actuator for rotating the lever about the pivot; and a load balancing element mounted on the lever at an axis and rotatable about the axis, such that each of the respective pair of links is positioned on opposite sides of the axis, said each of the respective pair of links for coupling to a corresponding one of the pair of latches; wherein operation of the actuator causes both rotation of lever about the pivot and rotation of the load balancing element about the axis while the pair of latches are operated concurrently. A power cinch system and a power release system can be included.

Abstract: An actuation system for coupling with a latch, the system comprising: a housing having a receptacle, the housing containing an actuator arm moveable within an interior of the housing, the actuator arm having a first connection feature; a cover plate for installing in the receptacle, the cover plate for aligning the first connection feature with a second connection feature; a cable apparatus mounted on the cover plate, the cable apparatus having the second connection feature such that the second connection is suitable for engagement with the first connection feature; wherein insertion of the cover plate in the receptacle causes an operative coupling of the cable apparatus with the actuator arm by aligning and mating the first connection feature with the second connection feature.

Abstract: A system for controlling a motion of a door of a vehicle comprising: at least one user interface device comprising a control device, the control device being in operable communication with a door check mechanism configured for resisting the motion of the door relative to a vehicle body, wherein operation of the control device controls operation of the door check mechanism. The door check mechanism can comprise: a linkage coupled between a vehicle body and the door, the linkage configured to pivot about an axis; and a brake assembly coupled to the linkage for applying a resistive force to the linkage to resist rotation of the linkage about the axis.
