Abstract: Systems and methods that facilitate update of software for outdoor power equipment, including over-the-air (OTA) update, are discussed. One example embodiment is a method of facilitating update of software for an outdoor power equipment, comprising: transmitting associated version information for each microcontroller unit (MCU) of a set of MCUs of the outdoor power equipment; receiving a first request to enter a system update state; initiating the system update state in response to the first request; receiving an update binary for one or more MCUs of the set of MCUs; verifying the integrity of the update binary; receiving a second request to begin update of the one or more MCUs based on the update binary; and updating the one or more MCUs with the update binary based on the received second request.
