Abstract: A load-carrying device comprises a frame adapted to support a load to be carried, and having front and rear end portions. A wheel is rotatably mounted to the frame and positioned at the front end portion for supporting same. The device of the invention further comprises elongated handle means pivotally connected to the rear end portion and frame support means connected to and displaceable with the handle means, the handle means being pivotally movable between a first position whereat the handle means extends rearwardly of the frame for carrying the load with the frame support means being disposed to support the rear end portion, and a second position whereat the frame support means is retracted from its supporting position. A releasable locking means is also provided for interlocking the handle means with the frame in the first position. Pivotal movement of the handle means from the first to the second position causes the frame to be displaced from a raised position above ground to a lowered position adjacent the ground and the rear end portion of the frame to be disposed substantially on ground level, thereby enabling the load to be loaded or unloaded at ground level.

Abstract: A mop wringer which includes a combination of a pail and lid wherein the lid can be locked to the pail. A first roller is mounted for rotation about a first axis in the lid while the lid includes an opening and a lid panel is hinged to the lid within the opening. The hinged panel rotates about a hinged axis parallel to the first axis and a second roller is mounted to the hinged panel in an area of the hinged panel remote from the second hinged axis and where the second roller is adjacent the first roller and forms a nip therebetween. Spring means extend between the lid and the hinged panel to urge the hinged panel towards a closed position with the first and second rollers adjacent each other, but the hinged panel can be pressed downwardly to provide access through the opening for a mop. When it is required to wring the mop the hinged panel is forced to close the opening while the mop is within the pail such that as the mop is being pulled through the nip formed by the first and second roller the mop strands are wrung.

Abstract: A modular plate assembly for hanging articles on a wall, comprising at least one and preferably a number of releasably interconnected plates, to be screwed on a wall, and at least one hook bracket, to be secured to the plates while concurrently hiding the head of the screw. The plates are endwisely interconnected in pairs by a tenon and mortise joint, including short hollow studs from one end section of one plate to frictionally engage large bores in one section of another plate. The screws engage through the hollow of the studs, to be driven into the wall. The hook bracket has a cavity provided with a railing, and each end of the plates has a tab whereby two proximate tabs from two adjacent plates are designed to be frictionally releasable engaged through the cavity of the hook bracket, to retain same in position for supporting the load of said article.

Abstract: A structure for facilitating the gripping and operating of a control lever of an electrical switch plate mounted into an electrical box embedded into a wall. The structure comprises a movable plate having a large central projection. The projection defines a trough in which the control lever engages, and two large abutting surfaces opposite the trough and orthogonal to the wall, the plate being slidable within a plane parallel to the wall. A cover is fixedly secured to the electrical box by its square central section the plane of which is interiorly offset with respect to the main body of the cover. The central section is upwardly and downwardly open to enable sliding action of the movable plate parallel to the wall, within the plane of the cavity. Thus, the movable plate hides the control lever as well as the screws that secure the cover to the electrical box, and is retained by the guide walls of the cover. In accordance with the invention, a modular covers assembly is also provided for use with electrical plugs as well as electrical switches. These various modules are interconnected by dovetailed connectors.
