Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques and apparatus for geography-based transmit power backoff. A method that may be performed by a user equipment (UE) includes identifying a region in which the UE is located and selecting a first maximum power reduction value associated with the region. The method further includes determining a transmit power for a signal based at least in part on the selected first maximum power reduction value and transmitting the signal at the transmit power.
