Abstract: A system has a processor that may receive an order of an industrial device assembly having multiple industrial automation devices. The processor may also generate a first data file based on the order of the industrial device assembly. The first data file may have specification data associated with each industrial automation device and hierarchical information associated with each industrial automation device. Additionally, the processor may generate a second data file based on the first data file. The second data file has one or more control blocks of code associated with each industrial automation device. Further, the processor may transmit the second data file to a control system associated with the industrial device assembly. The control system is automatically programmed based on the second data file to control one or more operations of each industrial automation device in the industrial device assembly.

Abstract: Techniques to facilitate automatic discovery of industrial assets and associated data in an industrial automation environment are disclosed herein. In at least one implementation, a computing system iteratively scans a communication network to automatically detect at least one industrial device on the communication network. The computing system determines a unique identifier of a device type associated with the at least one industrial device detected on the communication network. The computing system determines an identity object for the industrial device and maps the identity object to the unique identifier of the device type associated with the industrial device. Based on the identity object for the industrial device, the computing system establishes communication with the industrial device on the communication network and receives operational data from the industrial device. The computing system processes the operational data received from the industrial device to generate a device profile for the industrial device.

Abstract: Techniques to facilitate predictive maintenance for industrial assets in an industrial automation environment are disclosed herein. In at least one implementation, a computing system receives a plurality of industrial automation process variables associated with at least one industrial asset employed in an industrial automation process. The industrial automation process variables are fed into a machine learning model associated with the at least one industrial asset to generate a future maintenance event prediction for the at least one industrial asset. The future maintenance event prediction for the at least one industrial asset is provided to an industrial controller that controls the at least one industrial asset.

Abstract: A power device discovery and visualization system identifies and categorizes smart power and energy devices deployed within an industrial enterprise, and generates interfaces that render customized presentations of a plant's power and energy usage based on data retrieved from the discovered devices. The system also facilitates remote configuration of the discovered smart devices via interaction with a single consolidated interface that affords access to all discovered power and energy devices. The system constructs a device profile for each discovered smart device based on information retrieved from the device, and categorizes each discovered device according to device type (e.g., power meter, IED, VFD, controller, etc.). The system retrieves available historical, real-time, and/or configuration data from each discovered smart device and makes this data available for viewing or modification via the system interface, thereby unifying plantwide power and energy data into a common presentation.

Abstract: A method for operating a plurality of geographically distributed compressors, wherein the outputs of the geographically distributed compressors are coupled to a compressed air distribution system within an industrial automation environment, is provided. The method includes receiving performance data from the plurality of compressors, and receiving current environment data from a plurality of sensors within the industrial automation environment, including at least some sensors within the compressed air distribution system. The method also includes assigning a guide vane weight to each compressor based at least in part on a capacity of each compressor, identifying a target system air pressure, and processing the performance data, current environment data, guide vane weights, and target system air pressure to determine control settings for each of the plurality of compressors.
