摘要: The present disclosure provides processes for reducing the particle size of latex resins and toners produced with such resins. In embodiments, a carboxylic acid may be added to materials utilized to produce a latex and reduce the particle size of the resulting latex particles and toner particles. In accordance with the present disclosure, one may be able to utilize materials for the production of latex resins and toners which may otherwise produce particles that are too large in the absence of the carboxylic acid.

摘要: The present disclosure provides polyesters suitable for use in forming toners. In embodiments, a polyester may be subjected to phase inversion emulsification, in which charge control agents are added so that the polyester emulsion includes charge control agents therein. The resulting polyester emulsion with charge control agents may then be utilized to form toner particles.

摘要: Single component toners are provided with at least one surface additive including a large polymeric spacer, and processes for producing the same. In embodiments, the toner is a non-magnetic single component toner produced by emulsion aggregation methods. The large polymeric spacer additives provide excellent flow characteristics to the resulting toners, and reduce the incidence of clogging failure and print defects such as ghosting, white bands, and low toner density compared with conventionally produced toners.

In embodiments, the amount of coagulant utilized in producing those toners may be less than amounts currently in use, which may have a beneficial effect by reducing the time for coalescence. Modified waxes may also be utilized which provide excellent gloss and charging characteristics.
