Abstract: Provided is an operation method of an electronic device for controlling an external device, the method comprising the steps of: receiving a user input for a user interface (UI) provided in order to control an electronic device; determining whether a foreground application is associated with an external device; and transmitting a control signal corresponding to the user input to the external device when the foreground application is associated with the external device.
