Abstract: An apparatus and a method for monitoring an application to be installed on a mobile device are provided. The apparatus includes a display unit, a monitoring unit for determining whether a user has selected an application for installation in the mobile device, the application requiring at least one permission predetermined by the user, and a controller for controlling the mobile device to present an alert to the user when the user selects the application, wherein each of the at least one permission represents an action performed by an application.
