Abstract: Electrostatic deposition is utilized to coat surfaces of materials with polystyrene particles. The surfaces are coated with an electrically-conductive adhesive. Then, an electrostatic field is set up between the adhesive surface and an electrode on an applicator which may or may not be connected to a continuous feed machine for polystyrene particles. Polystyrene particles are given an electrical charge when in contact with the electrode and are propelled by the electrostatic field to the adhesive surface.
