Abstract: The invention relates to a method and to a spraying apparatus (10) for the thermal surface treatment of a metal product (1). The metal product (1) is conveyed in a transport direction (T) through a treatment section (12) of a spraying apparatus (10) equipped with cooling nozzles (16) while cooling fluid is discharged through the cooling nozzles (16) of the spraying apparatus (10) onto the surfaces of the metal product (1), wherein the metal product (1) has—viewed in the transport direction (T) of the metal product (1)—a front section (4) and a trailing rear section (5). The cooling of the surfaces of the metal product (1) within the spraying apparatus (10) occurs in such a manner that the rear section (5) of the metal product (1) is cooled more significantly than its front section (4). It is thereby achieved that an essentially uniform ferrite content forms in the material of the metal product (1) at a predetermined depth of the same over a longitudinal area extending between the front section (4) and the rear section (5).

Abstract: A device is disclosed for coupling a coolant supply and/or coolant drainage to a roll, especially in a continuous casting installation, wherein the roll includes a journal, which is mounted rotatably in a bearing block, and a lateral recess, extending in the axial direction, and at least one roll cooling channel, through which a coolant can pass. The device includes at least one coolant channel, which can be brought into fluidic connection with the roll cooling channel on the journal side; and a sealing unit for sealing the fluidic connection between the coolant channel and the roll cooling channel, including an inner module and an outer module. The inner module includes a hollow cylindrical element, which can be inserted into the lateral recess of the journal, and which, when viewed in the axial direction, has no flange on the outer side of the journal.

Abstract: A strand guide segment for a continuous casting plant, which strand guide segment has an upper frame, a lower frame and position-controlled hydraulic cylinder units for setting the distance between the upper frame and the lower frame and, as a result, a strand thickness of a strand to be guided by the strand guide segment. A first end of each hydraulic cylinder unit is mounted on the upper frame. At the second end of the hydraulic cylinder units, facing away from the upper frame, each hydraulic cylinder unit is detachably connected by a respective flange connection to a respective tie rod which, at its end facing away from the flange connection, is mounted on the lower frame.
