Abstract: A burst disc unit for safety relief use in a fuel tank, responsive to temperature, and bursting at a predetermined temperature. It includes a housing with a disc element sealed thereon, and eutectic material in the housing supporting the disc element. Also knife blades are provided in the housing. Upon the predetermined temperature being reached, the eutectic material melts and runs out and the fuel in the tank forces the disc element against the knife blades and bursts, or cuts, or breaks it and the fuel runs out.
