The present disclosure relates to a method and an apparatus for generating a photograph image. The method includes: measuring an illumination value, acquiring a plurality of source images used to generate one final image, generating a set final image either by selecting one source image with best quality among the plurality of acquired source images, or by combining the plurality of acquired source images, based on the measured illumination value. The present disclosure allows to acquire a clear and bright photograph image in a low-light environment.

A camera apparatus capable of tracking a target object based on motion of a camera sensed by a motion sensor and a method for tracking an object in the camera apparatus are provided. The method includes, if input image data is inputted, sensing motion of a camera which captures the input image data, generating camera motion data corresponding to motion of the camera, estimating a pose or motion of the camera based on the camera motion data, and tracking translation of a target object based on at least one of the estimated pose or motion of the camera and the input image data.

An apparatus and method for reducing or preventing image degradation due to shaking of a camera upon image acquisition is provided. The method includes determining illuminance corresponding to a subject, automatically determining a capturing mode of an electronic device based on at least the illuminance, acquiring a first resulting image of the subject based on a first exposure time, if the capturing mode is a first capturing mode, and acquiring a plurality of images of the subject based on a second exposure time, if the capturing mode is a second capturing mode, and generating a second resulting image based on at least two images among the plurality of images.
