    Abstract: A method of increasing a performance of a super-regenerative receiver (SRR), includes initializing a quench rate to be greater than or equal to 2 based on a parameter, and comparing a decision metric to a lower threshold value, the decision metric established from a first receiver operating characteristic (ROC). The method further includes estimating a phase offset, using an over-quench method, and aligning quench signals at the quench rate of 1, and comparing the decision metric to a higher threshold value to minimize a false alarm probability. The method further includes confirming packet detection and the phase offset, using the over-quench method.
