Abstract: Provided are an image display device and an operation method thereof. An image display device for providing broadcast program information including a communication interface, a memory storing one or more instructions, and a processor configured to execute the one or more instructions stored in the memory. The one or more instructions may cause the processor to obtain electronic program guide (EPG) information about a broadcast program through the communication interface, obtain metadata about the broadcast program, compare the EPG information with the metadata, and based on identifying that the broadcast program indicated by the EPG information and the broadcast program indicated by the metadata are inconsistent (do not match), regenerate the broadcast program information to be provided to a user, based on the EPG information, and cause a display to display the regenerated broadcast program information on the display.
