摘要: A pedestrian protection device includes a left airbag and a right airbag are of configurations that expand on a left and a right respectively of a wiper pivot disposed centrally in a vehicle width direction. Cowl cover portions of the left airbag and the right airbag that cover an upper face side of a cowl are of a configuration such that end side regions on sides in proximity to each other are caused to come into contact in a position above the wiper pivot. The end side region of one of the cowl cover portions covers the wiper pivot from above in such a way as to be able to restrict contact between a pedestrian and the wiper pivot.

摘要: An airbag device for pedestrian protection includes means for shrinking and tying an airbag after deployment toward the storage. The airbag device includes a protecting sheet that is folded together with the airbag and stored in the storage, and a wrapping sheet that wraps the airbag as folded. The protecting sheet includes a main body and a plurality of straps disposed in a periphery of the main body. The wrapping sheet includes a rupturable portion that is configured to rupture and split the wrapping sheet into a front portion and a rear portion at airbag deployment, and a plurality of through holes each for receiving the straps in a vicinity of the rupturable portion in the front portion. The deployed airbag is shrank and tied toward the storage by passing the straps through the through holes and tying them so the straps do not come off of the through holes.

摘要: A pedestrian airbag device includes an airbag, which is housed folded in a vicinity of a rear end of a hood panel, and an inflator that supplies an inflating gas to the airbag. The airbag includes a vehicle body side wall portion disposed on a body side when inflation is completed, and a pedestrian side wall portion disposed opposing the vehicle body side wall portion. An internal pressure maintenance chamber is enclosed by a peripheral wall coupled to the vehicle body side wall portion and the pedestrian side wall portion, and is configured such that an inflating gas discharged from the inflator can flow into an interior via a general inflating portion in the airbag. A check valve mechanism that prevents a backflow to the general inflating portion side of the inflating gas that has flowed into the interior is disposed in the internal pressure maintenance chamber.

摘要: An airbag includes panels, which face each other, of an outer peripheral wall upon inflation configured to change a thickness of the airbag from a thickened part to a thinned part by a tether coupled to the panels. The tether is divided into a plurality of pieces along a direction in which the panels face each other, and is thus configured by a plurality of divided pieces to be sewn each other at a linear sewing line. A panel-side divided piece sewn to the panel has a wide part, a narrow part and a width-changing part, which correspond to a thickness dimension changed from the thickened part to the thinned part. A panel-side edge of the panel-side divided piece has a shape including a curve part corresponding to the thickness dimension, and is sewn with being overlapped in a planar shape to the panel.

摘要: An airbag device includes an airbag and an inflator stored inside the airbag. The inflator includes an inflator body and a mounting member that protrudes from the circumference of the inflator body generally orthogonally to an axial direction of the inflator body. The airbag includes an insertion region via which the inflator is inserted into the airbag. The insertion region has a double wall structure of an outer panel and an inner panel, and includes one or more through holes that are formed through the outer panel and inner panel for receiving the mounting member of the inflator. The outer panel includes an outer slit via which the inflator is inserted into the airbag, and the inner panel includes an inner slit via which the inflator is inserted into the airbag. The outer slit and inner slit are so arranged as not to overlap or intersect each other.

The cowl cover portions have end portion regions disposed coinciding with each other on up-down direction sides on end sides that are in proximity to each other. At least one of the end portion regions is configured in such a way that an internal pressure when inflation is completed is raised higher than that of a general region.

摘要: A pedestrian airbag device includes an airbag and an inflator that supplies an inflating gas to the airbag. The airbag includes a cowl cover portion and two pillar cover portions. The inflator includes a main body portion having a substantially columnar outer shape, and a mounting bolt disposed to protrude from an outer peripheral surface of the main body portion in an axis orthogonal direction of the main body portion. The main body portion is mounted on an accommodation site side by using the mounting bolt in a state where the main body portion is inserted into the cowl cover portion while an axial direction is disposed to substantially extend along a left-right direction. A gas flow regulating member suppressing a rearward outflow of an inflating gas discharged from the main body portion is disposed at a position on a rear side of the main body portion inside the cowl cover portion.

摘要: An airbag device includes an airbag, a case in which the folded airbag is housed, and an airbag cover that covers the folded airbag. An attachment portion of the airbag cover is attached to a peripheral wall portion of the case by a rivet being caused to pass through. The attachment portion includes a protruding portion that protrudes toward the peripheral wall portion side in an end edge farther to a leading end side than a region of penetration of the rivet. The protruding portion is disposed in a position opposing a curved region configuring a boundary region between the peripheral wall portion and the bottom wall portion, and is protruded in such a way as to be oriented farther to a central side of the bottom wall portion than an outer side face of the peripheral wall portion, and an edge on the peripheral wall portion side of a protruding end face is disposed in a state of non-contact with the curved region.
