Abstract: An Ethernet protocol data unit (PDU) over 5G service is provided. A network device in a core network stores addresses of advertised subnets, associated with multiple user equipment or customer premises equipment (UE/CPE) devices, in a subnet table that correlates a MAC address of each of the multiple UE/CPE devices to a subnet address. The network device receives an allocation and retention priority (ARP) request over a data link layer. The ARP request indicates an IP address for a target host of a data flow. The network device determines, based on the subnet table and the IP address, a MAC address of one UE/CPE device servicing the host address. The network device sends a directed ARP request to the UE/CPE device using the MAC address, receives in response a target MAC address for the target host, and sends a response to the ARP request with the target MAC address.

Abstract: Techniques for stateless address auto-configuration with support for multiple, different subnets are disclosed. In one embodiment, a method is disclosed comprising receiving, by a network device, a router solicitation (RS) message from a network node, generating, by the network device, a router advertisement (RA) message for use in determining the network node's network address, the RA message including a network address prefix and subnetting information, the subnetting information comprising a subnet address, a subnet address length and a subnet option type, and transmitting, by the network device, the RA message to the network node.

Abstract: An illustrative cellular network optimized for data communication in accordance with a set of parameters is described herein. The cellular network may receive a data communication that is to be delivered, in accordance with a set of parameters, from a first communication device to a second communication device. A particular user plane function (UPF) node may process the data communication in accordance with the set of parameters. The particular UPF node may be included in a set of UPF nodes deployed at sites including an edge site associated with a cellular base station and a central site associated with a network core. Based on the processing by the particular UPF node, the cellular network may deliver the data communication from the first communication device to the second communication device in accordance with the set of parameters. Corresponding methods and systems are also disclosed.

Abstract: A network device may delegate a first prefix length to a primary WAN interface and delegate a second prefix length to a backup WAN interface. The network device may assign a first primary prefix and a first backup prefix to a first VLAN interface and may assign a second primary prefix and a second backup prefix to a second VLAN interface. The network device may provide egress traffic from host devices, connected to the first VLAN interface and to the second VLAN interface, to the primary WAN interface and without prefix translation, when the primary WAN interface is available. The network device may provide ingress traffic to the host devices, via the primary WAN interface and without prefix translation, when the primary WAN interface is available.
