Abstract:
According to one embodiment, a digital broadcast receiving/recording/reproducing apparatus has a receiving module which receives a broadcast signal of a program that is set to be recorded, a processing module which converts the broadcast signal received by the receiving module into digital picture and sound program data, a memory which records copy control information acquired from the broadcast signal received by the receiving module, a recording control module which encrypts the program data converted by the processing module and records the encrypted program data in a specified recording device, and a memory control module which encrypts the copy control information recorded in the memory and records the encrypted copy control information in the specified recording device and deletes the copy control information recorded in the memory after termination of the recording of the encrypted copy control information.
Abstract:
The subject matter disclosed herein relates to a method and/or system for enabling access to media content using different digital rights management formats.
Abstract:
A copyright protection system includes a recording device and a reproduction device. The recording device writes encrypted content, an encrypted content key for decrypting the encrypted content, and license information on a recording medium on which a unique media number has been recorded in an unrewritable state. The license information is generated using both the media number and the encrypted content key, and therefore reflects both values. The reproduction device reads the media number, the encrypted content key, and the license information from the recording medium, and judges whether the license information reflects both the media number and the encrypted content key. The reproduction device decrypts the encrypted content key, and decrypts the encrypted content using the content key only if the license information reflects both values. Thus, the copyright protection system allows only original recording media to be reproduced, and prohibits reproduction of copy recording media.
Abstract:
A system for protection against unauthorized modifications of digital content, in particular image content, in which a content processing system retrieves content, a fingerprint for the content and at least one modification limit expressing authorized modifications to the content. The content may then be modified, but before saving or exportation is allowed, a second fingerprint is calculated, and the difference between the fingerprints is compared with the at least one modification limit. If the difference is within the allowed bounds, then saving or exportation is allowed; if not, it is prevented. Also provided are a method and a content consumer device performing essentially the same steps before allowing rendering of the content.

Abstract:
There are provided an information processing apparatus and a license distribution system including the information processing apparatus in which the reproduction or duplication of a content can be limited to the interior of a domain and a benefit based on the fact that an external device has participated in the domain can be made available at the time of reissuing a license.A reproducing device 1 transmits a request for reissuing the license for permitting the reproduction of the content in the domain, and participation information (S201). A server 2 receives the request for reissuing the license and the participation information (S202), and confirms validity of the transmitted participation information (S203). When the validity of the participation information is confirmed, the server 2 determines information on a specific privilege related to the license, transmits the information to the external device (S206), and reissues the license (S210).

Abstract:
Digital content is encrypted according to a content key (CK) to form (CK(content)) and such (CK(content)), a license generator, a start-up file, and license-generating information are placed on a digital storage medium. The license generator is for generating a digital license corresponding to the placed content, where the generated license has the content key (CK) therein. The start-up file is read and executed when the medium is mounted to a computing device, and the executed start-up file executes the license generator The license generating information includes the content key (CK) and any terms, conditions, rules, and/or requirements to be built into the license.
