    摘要： A printer processor prints out two sheets of test prints by printing a test pattern on two recording sheets of different lengths. The test pattern consists of eight straight-linear lines that are parallel to a main scan direction or a sub scan direction of an exposure section. Dimensions of designated portions of the test pattern are measured on each of the test prints, to detect skew characteristics of the recording sheets, deviations of print starting positions in the main and sub scan directions and fluctuations in transport speed of the recording sheets. Based on the detected values, a skew correcting section, the exposure section and a conveyer device for the recording sheets are controlled to correct skew of the recording sheets, the print starting positions in the main and sub scan directions and the transport speed.

    摘要： An image medium is attached in an image input unit of a printing system, and an image to be printed and its number of prints are set through an operation panel. As contents of an order is determined, a credit card is inserted in an ID reading unit, and the printing system identifies a customer, and registers the order, then settles a payment. If the payment is done in cash, the printing system issues a magnetic card and the like on which a number is recorded for the customer to verify. The printing system has a plurality of container boxes for storing the printed material related to the customer's order by separating and keeping the printed material for each customer. A host unit verifies the properness of the person who comes to receive the prints by his/her credit card or the magnetic card and the like, and opens a corresponding outlet among the container boxes, so that the customer can receive his/her prints.

    摘要： The image scanning system (52) of the present invention scans slides and film strips containing photographic images and creates a corresponding plurality of digital representations of the photographic images. The system (52) includes a touch screen monitor (96), a computer (54), a scanner (62), a high speed interface (112) and a printer (98). The scanner (62) includes a light source (172) for projecting light through the film strip. A light sensor (124) senses the light projected through the film strip and generates pixel data. A film drive advances the film strip between the light source (172) and the light sensor (124). A lens located between the light source and the light sensor directs the light projected through the film strip onto the light sensor (124). The pixel data is transmitted through the high speed interface (112) to the computer (54) for processing operations. After the pixel data has been processed, digital images are displayed on the monitor (96) and may also be printed out.

The user prints the first group of digital images using the selected photo product option(s) and delivers the photo product to one or more designated recipients. The user subsequently provides a second group of digital images and a service account identifier, accessing the user service account data to identify the photo product option selected in step c. The user then prints the second group of digital images using the same photo product option used in step d) and delivers the photo product to one or more designated recipients.

    摘要： A recording paper roll unit comprises plural recording paper rolls that are held by a common core. The recording paper rolls are covered with a light shielding sheet. When the core is rotated, the recording papers are drawn out from the recording paper rolls. Two images are recorded at a time by exposure to the recording papers. When the recording papers have the same recording characteristics, the exposure condition of an exposure unit becomes the same. When the recording papers have the same length, the recording paper rolls can be used up at the same time. When the recording papers have the same width, two images of the same size are recorded at the same time, and thus it is possible to increase the recording speed.

    摘要： An optical printer has a DMD as a spatial light modulator. An optical image corresponding to a picture frame is projected from the DMD onto a photographic paper in a variable size to print the picture frame in a designated print size. When a maximum print size is designated, image data stored in three color image memories is entirely converted into mirror drive data for driving all micromirrors of the DMD in accordance with the image data. When a smaller print size is designated, the image data is thinned to reduce the image data size in correspondence with the smaller print size. Also a smaller area of the DMD is selected as an active area in which micromirrors are driven in accordance with the thinned image data, to print a picture in the smaller print size.
