Abstract: A motor drive device includes: a drive circuit unit having a plurality pair of switching elements and a plurality pair of free wheel diodes connected in parallel to the plurality pair of switching elements respectively; and a controller that turns on/off the switching elements. The controller performs a synchronous rectification control in which at least one pair of the switching elements is complementarily turned on/off, or performs an asynchronous rectification control in which the synchronous rectification control is not performed. The controller has a variation restriction portion that restricts a variation in current that is caused by a switch from one of the synchronous rectification control and the asynchronous rectification control to the other.

Abstract: A power converter a controller that includes an instruction calculator calculating a first voltage instruction value that is applied to a first winding group, for example. An application voltage to the first winding group is controlled, for example, in a first period so that a first neutral point voltage shifts below a center-of-output value of an outputtable range is outputted, and a second neutral point voltage shifts above the center-of-output value of the outputtable range. The instruction calculator calculates the first instruction value for enabling a switching between the periods, after a lapse of a switch period that is variably calculated based on a preset physical quantity. In such manner, a ripple of a torque or an electric current accompanying the switching between the periods is reduced.

Abstract: A control apparatus for a three-phase AC motor includes a current sensor and a current estimation section. The current sensor detects current flowing through one phase of the motor. The current estimation section repeats dq transformation and inverse dq transformation in a predetermined cycle. In the dq transformation, a d-axis current estimation value and a q-axis current estimation value in a rotating coordinate system of the AC motor are calculated based on the detected current and a previous current estimation value of another phase of the AC motor. In the inverse dq transformation, a present current estimation value of the other phase to be obtained at a time of angle advance of one period of the cycle is calculated based on smoothed values of the d-axis current estimation value and the q-axis current estimation value.
