摘要: Systems and methods of distributed storage are disclosed herein. A request to store data in a client computer is received. A request is sent from the client computer to a storage service to create a core object such that the core object can be created with a member entry to a member feed in the core object. The member feed can be indicative of one or more entities that are permitted to access to the core object. A message is received at the client computer with the core object. A replica of the core object on the client computer is created. The client computer can add the data as a data entry to a data feed in the core object. An updating message is sent to the storage service. The message can include a copy of the replica of the core object including the data entry.

摘要: Communications, such as emails or other information, in a work setting can be retained in a shared database that operates similar to an Internet social network. As work activities are performed, the content of the work activities can be associated with one or more shared databases based on the individual performing the activities, a common topic or theme associated with the activity and/or a manual entry. As various individuals review information contained in the shared database, notifications relating to who reviewed the content and a time of review can be sent to a contributor of the content to provide for accountability issues.

摘要: Content management architecture for a portable wireless device. Caching and fetching techniques are provided to improve content handling for portable devices such as cellular telephones and portable computers. A search component automatically performs searches as a background process, and potentially desired content is received and cached by a content storing component to be available in the future when and if needed, mitigating latency associated with slow download speeds, refresh rates, and other system and/or network impediments. Content from background search results can be trickled into the device as part of the background process so as not to burden system resources for other processes. As part of memory management, aged and/or low priority or low interest content can be selectively removed or archived to increase available cache or memory space, as well as to maintain relevant content within the device. A presentation component facilitates presentation of the pre-stored content.

摘要: A communications manager provides communication services for an activity-based collaboration system, in which data change requests comprising deltas are communicated over a network between network-capable devices. The communications manager is operable on a local network capable device for sending locally-generated deltas over the network to at least one remote network-capable device and for receiving remotely-generated deltas over the network from the at least one remote network-capable device. The communications manager can send the deltas via unicasting, multicasting, or broadcasting techniques. The communications manager is responsive to network connection status information indicating that the remote network-capable device is connected to the network for sending the local deltas directly to an address for the remote network-capable device. A presence mechanism maintains and distributes, on request, the network connection status information, which it acquires from each of the network-capable devices. The communications manager is also responsive to the network connection status information indicating that the remote network-capable device is disconnected from the network for sending the local deltas to an address of a relay. The relay stores deltas until the relay is notified that the remote network-capable device has reconnected to the network, and then the relay sends the deltas to the reconnected remote network-capable device.

摘要: An activity-based collaboration system provides communication and other shared and mutual activities between individuals and small groups in shared private spaces, called “telespaces”. In the system, participants or members of a telespace interact through personal computers, Internet appliances or other network-capable devices, which can communicate with one-another over a network, e.g., the Internet. Each telespace is an instantiation of an activity operable on each of the network-capable devices of members of the telespace. Each activity includes a tool for initiating data change requests (called “deltas”) responsive to telespace member interactions, and a data-change engine, separate from the tool, for maintaining telespace data pursuant to a common data model, usually activity-specific, in memory. Each network-capable device also includes a dynamics manager, responsive to the deltas, for directing the data-change engine to make changes to the local copy of data.

摘要: Embodiments extend functionality of a web page using cloud-based page applications. A page application provider, executing as part of a web browser, receives notification of a web page being accessed by a user of a user computing device. One or more page applications associated with the web page are identified. The identified page applications provide functionality related to the web page and, in some embodiments, interact or share data with the web page. The page application provider presents the identified page applications to the user. Based on a selection of at least one of the presented page applications, the selected page application is provided for execution by the user computing device. In some embodiments, the correlations among the user, web pages, and page applications are available from a cloud-based page application service.
