Abstract:
A system and method for providing links to a browser program running on a computer connected to a network include receiving a request from the browser program to transfer a file representing a home page for display in the browser program, and determining a storage location on the computer for links used by the browser program. The system and method may include requesting permission to modify links used by the browser program prior to transferring a list of links to the storage location on the computer for subsequent use by the browser in retrieving information from the network. The list of links may be statically or dynamically generated with one or more links provided by a link server on the network. In one embodiment, accounting information relative to the number and type of links transferred to the user's computer is collected and may be forwarded to an associated billing computer located on the network.
Abstract:
This invention provides an air freshener dispenser device with a nonporous wicking feature, which consists of (a) a first container with an upside open end, and a downside closed end with a sharp piercing structure extending up from the interior bottom surface, (b) a second container which is inverted and internally-nested within the first container, with an upside closed end comprising a vapor-emanating means, and a downside end which is sealed with an impermeable membrane, and (c) a reservoir of liquid air freshener medium enclosed within the second container. The coextensive sidewalls of the two containers are in a capillary spacing proximity. For activation of the dispenser device into an operational mode, the second container is adjusted until the impermeable membrane is breached by the sharp-structure at the bottom of the first container. The released air freshener medium is transported by capillary action to the vapor-emanating surface for evaporation into the atmosphere.
Abstract:
An ax hammer (10) for use in carpet laying, including a head (11) having a base (19) on which a hammering surface (20) is mounted at the one extremity of head (11), and a blade (30) disposed at the head's other extremity. A lowermost niche or hollow (241) at the bottom of the base (19) extends circumferentially there-around, more deep cut to provide for a finger or the like, than the niches (24) that are above it at the top of the head (11). An elongated arcuate niche (31) extends from about the tool's bore (17) formation towards the tool's other extremity, terminating at an inverted curved configuration (37) adjacent such other extremity. Sunken pockets (27, 40) are provided respectively adjoining the niches (241, 31) while sunken pockets 41 are included along the top wall (25) of the head (11). The niche (31) extends to below the bottom of the body formation for bore (17) to provide a deeper dimension to the other extremity and its blade (30) and for insertion of a portion of the user's hand. Rounded corners (44) are provided for the pockets (27, 40, 41).
Abstract:
A device for removing or applying a brake spring having a hook onto a pin which device has a handle for providing leverage which curves to reverse the direction of force applied to the handle and to allow the device to fit over and around the pin which is to hold the brake spring. The curved portion defines a groove to engage the pin and allows the pin to act as the fulcrum of the device. The curved portion also acts to engage the spring and guide the spring onto the pin as well as holding the spring at a non-interfering distance from the bar while the spring is raised over the bar. The spring arm is of the same width or smaller than the spring hook so that the spring hook can fit over the spring arm.
Abstract:
A multiple target electronic dart game having shared microprocessor that monitors and services operation of the electronic dart game. The multiple targets are mounted on opposite sides of a column which may be floor-standing or wall mountable. Affixed to the top of the column is visual display video monitor for providing players and observers with game scores and the like. The visual display video monitor is optionally capable of split-screen presentation. The novel design of the multiple target electronic dart game enables players to play dart games not previously available with single target dart games. Moreover, many components utilized by the controls are shared, thus enabling cost savings by eliminating substantial duplication of components.
