    摘要: In a preferred embodiment of the present invention, a riser for an archery bow is manufactured by providing a flat workpiece, forming the flat workpiece to a pre-bent profile of an archery riser, placing the flat workpiece in a press, and bending the flat workpiece to a desired non-flat shape of the archery riser. Preferably, the flat workpiece is an aluminum sheet in a T4 aluminum condition. Further, after the non-flat shape is created, the riser can optionally be cured to a T6 aluminum condition, a less soft condition.

Each holder is mounted on one of the inclined surfaces and includes a base, a cover and a semicircular pivot. The semicircular pivot is mounted detachably on the outer end of the base and corresponds to and abuts with the receiving recess of the inclined surface. Each buffer is mounted between one of the limbs and the base of a corresponding holder for absorbing the force applied to the limb and reducing stress concentration to prolong the useful life of the limb.

The riser may incorporate a spine formed from a different polymer or composite than the rest of the riser, or from metal. A method for producing a riser for an archery bow includes the steps of introducing a polymeric composite into a mold from a first end of said mold to facilitate a particular orientation of components of said polymeric composite, molding the polymeric composite to produce a billet that approximates a net shape of the riser, and then machining the billet to the final shape of the riser.

    摘要: The present invention is an improved compound bow. In particular the present invention is directed to an adjustable compound bow for hunting and archery with noise reduction features. The preferred embodiment of the bow comprises a riser having a main riser length with two ends, each end attached to an adjustable hub with a limb base. Each limb base preferably has a pocketless flat surface with vibration dampening material. Each hub is secured to the main riser length by an adjustment screw and a hub pivot. A limb is preferably secured to each limb base at two points on the pocketless flat surface. A bowstring is strung under tension between the limbs. The bowstring's tension can be adjusted by adjusting the adjustable hubs with the adjustment screws. The bow preferably has a storage position and an in-use position caused by rotating the limbs around the adjustable hubs. Adjustment of the bow can be accomplished without use of a bow press.

Draw of the bowstring cable segment away from the handle withdraws the bowstring cable segment from the let-out groove on the pulley and rotates the pulley around its axis, withdraws the first cable segment from the cable let-out on the pulley, and winds the second cable segment into the cable take-up groove on the pulley. The cable take-up groove is contoured such that the draw force on the bowstring cable segment increases as a function of draw to a first level, and then decreases to a second level less than the first level and at which draw force remains substantially constant.

A first pulley is mounted for rotation around a first axis on a first of the limbs, and a second pulley is mounted for rotation around a second axis on a second of the limbs. A bow cable arrangement extends between the pulleys, and includes a bowstring cable extending from bowstring let-out grooves in the first and second pulleys so that, as the bowstring cable is drawn away from the handle, the bowstring cable lets out or unwraps from the bowstring grooves and rotates the pulleys around the respective axes. First and second cables extend from cable take-up grooves on the respective pulleys to first and second cable let-out means on the respective opposite pulleys. Thus, as the bowstring cable is drawn away from the handle, the first and second cables are each taken up or wound at one end onto one of the pulleys and let out or unwound at the other end from the other pulley.
