    摘要: A switching mechanism for an electronic timepiece is disclosed. The switching mechanism comprises an external means for selectively activating an internal switching assembly. The external means is rotatably coupled to a grooved rod member which is in turn coupled to the internal assembly. Various contact arms disposed across the grooved rod member are adapted to become selectively disposed on various electrical contacts in the timepiece. By rotating the grooved rod member, these arms are selectively disposed on or off corresponding electrical contacts thus causing the internal switch assembly to be turned ON or OFF. By the use of the invented switching mechanism, various internal switching assemblies such as for alarm systems and the like may be easily activated and deactivated without the problems associated with prior art switching mechanisms.

The switch is provided with a generally annular detent structure affording clearance at its middle for the movable contact and affording a better feel including an audible click when rotated into each of its several operating positions and the stationary parts of the switch are locked to one another to prevent movement when the rotary knob is turned in a structure affording an extremely thin, flat package adapted to be staked into the watch case.

    摘要: A multiple pole bushbutton rotary switch has axial as well as rotary travel. A first dimple in the back of the rotor of a stem and rotor assembly is rotatable over a desired number of position indicating detents for selective positioning of the rotor. The stem is then pushable on its axis to make a second dimple located on the opposite surface of the rotor travel into a second detent on a substrate and make electrical contact between the rotor and contact within the second detent which is preferably coupled to circuit conductors on the substrate. An embodiment of the pushbutton rotary switch is particularly useful for controlling a plurality of different time-date setting functions of electronic watches with a single switch mechanism.

A time correcting device coupled to said time keeping circuitry is provided for independently correcting each of said display elements other than the second display elements, said time-correcting device including means for correcting the second display elements by returning same to zero. In another embodiment each of the digits are separately correctable, a carry suppression gate being interposed between the time-keeping circuitry for certain of the display elements actuated by a correction mode signal to permit independent correction of at least minutes and hours. Time correction may be either by the one-step method or the quick feed method.

    摘要: A switch apparatus is described including a pair of movable contacts separately mounted on opposite sides of an etched circuit board and ganged together by a loose coupling including a coupling member extending through a hole in such circuit board. Fixed contacts are provided as conductive strips on both sides of the circuit board and the movable contacts are moved in and out of engagement with such fixed contacts by a rotary cam actuator mounted on such circuit board. In one embodiment, a cam follower surface is provided on one of a pair of insulator members joining the movable contacts to mounting springs, while in another embodiment the cam follower surface is provided on one end on the coupling member and such coupling member extends through a hole in the support portion of one of the movable contacts, while its other end engages the support portion of the other movable contact. The movable contacts may be short circuiting contacts each including a pair of spaced leg portions through which current flows in opposite directions to produce opposing fields which reduce the contact inductance.
