    Abstract: This invention relates to naval construction and oceanology. It relates to a one-man submersible characterized, firstly, by external shapes designed to prevent any accidental fouling with any fixed obstacles; secondly, propulsion and steering units which give it excellent maneuverability and the possibilities of quick neutralization of any reaction experienced by the submersible; thirdly, by the fact that the operator has available a system comprising, at the extreme forward part of the submersible a swivelling and extensible tool-holder system with a coaxial and protected swivel seat; finally, a tall horizontal crane with one or two swivelling and extensible jibs, and four hydraulic columns with a special baseplate, these all being features which enable any work to be carried out with increased rapidity, accuracy and safety.The above submersible has numerous advantageous applications in various areas of ocean exploration and working.

    Abstract: An actuating device for submarine vehicles in which power to control the vehicle is provided by apparatus responsive to the surrounding water pressure. At least one control cylinder, coupled to a wheel of the vehicle by a gear system, and at least one operating cylinder, coupled to a valve by a piston rod, are fluidly coupled together by a plurality of hose or pipe lines which selectively admit ocean-water surrounding the vehicle to the operating and control cylinders to control movement of the vehicle.

    Abstract: My invention has for its object a buoy adapted to be released by a wrecked submarine so as to define its location at sea, the release and operation of said buoy being obtained automatically in the case of a grounding at a considerable depth or else at the end of a predetermined period during which the crew has ceased being active or else purposely by the crew. To this end, the buoy anchored to the submarine is provided with a circuit producing its release with reference to the submarine by cutting out its moorings, said circuit being closed either purposely by control means located in the submarine or else automatically through the pressure prevailing at a depth which is normally forbidden to submarines or again under the action of a delayed means which is to be reset periodically by the crew so as to act on the releasing circuit only when the crew is no longer fit for resetting said means. The buoy includes furthermore signalling means wherethrough its position may be ascertained.
