The cover may include an enveloped or flapped portion on each on its ends into which each end of the lawn chair can be situated. The cover thus remains in position on the lawn regardless of wind and movement by the user. The cover further includes a strap to accommodate convenient carrying of the lawn chair. The cover may finally include a pillow positioned at the head portion of the cover, a pocket for carrying magazines and other accessories, and an insulated receptacle for carrying and holding beverages such as soda and beer.

摘要： A chaise lounge, usable for sunbathing and other recreational purposes, comprises a stationary base having a normally upright canopy pivotally mounted rearwardly thereon. The canopy, preferably comprising a hood-like frame covered with an open mesh and flexible material, is adapted to be pivoted beween a normal upright position to form a seating arrangement and a lowered position placing a back of the canopy in alignment with a top of the base. A pair of laterally spaced and operator-controlled (from within the canopy) combined holding and locking struts are pivotally interconnected between forward ends of each side of the canopy and a respective side of the base to releasably hold and lock the canopy in a selected position between its upright and lowered positions. Each strut may comprise a releasable coil spring for selectively holding a reciprocal rod in a locked position, under torsional friction, or a motor-driven screw drive arrangement. In a preferred embodiment of this invention, a pair of laterally spaced combined cushioning and return struts are pivotally interconnected between each side of the canopy and the frame to cushion and control movement of the canopy when it is moved from its upright position towards its lowered position and for automatically moving the canopy back to its upright position in response to release of the holding and locking struts.

A bed within the pod is tiltable in a forward direction while a motive device is operable to rotate the pod relative an underlying support pedestal. A self-contained climate control system permits maintenance of desired temperature conditions within the pod regardless of the outside weather. Consoles adjacent the bed are provided with control panels allowing selective tilting of the bed and rotary displacement of the pod along with regulation of the climate control system as well as radiotape player devices. Current for operation of the pod and associated accessories may be supplied from a source of conventional AC power or alternatively, from attached or adjacent solar cells.

摘要： A foldable outdoor chair movable from a position of use to a collapsed position is provided. The chair has a combined seat bottom and rear leg assembly including a seat bottom and laterally spaced side rails, a seat back assembly including a seat back, a front leg assembly including a pair of laterally-spaced front legs, and a pair of arm rests. The outdoor chair also includes a lever assembly to facilitate folding which includes a pair of levers. Each lever is pivotally connected at a first pivot point to the seat back assembly below the seat bottom and is also pivotally connected at a second pivot point to one of the side rails below the center axis of the side rail. The chair is foldable when an upward force is applied to the seat back assembly to disengage the seat back from the side rails and subsequently a forward force is applied to the seat back such that a clockwise rotation is imparted to the first pivot point whereby the chair is moved to an intermediate position. The chair is then moved to its collapsed position when a downward force is applied to the seat back such that the levers are pivoted counterclockwise causing the seat bottom and leg assembly, seat back assembly, front leg assembly and pair of arm rests to be in a substantially horizontal orientation generally parallel to one another.

摘要： A beach chair is made of three tubes, the tubes being bent three-dimensionally, and a method renders the forming economical. The three tubes are bent into the same shape, including parallel legs and a bend connecting the legs. The bend is also curved out of the plane of the parallel legs. The seat has a sling between two legs, and the bend turns down to act as a rear support; the back extends up from the seat; and, a support connects the seat and back for rigidity, and the bend turns down to act as a front support. An optional leg rest is the same shape again, having its legs attached to the seat, and its bend turning down to support the leg rest. To bend the tubing, a thermoplastic trough is shaped as desired, and a heated tube is conformed to the trough.
