摘要： An articulated railroad car including a plurality of platforms each supported by a single axle wheel truck at each end. The platforms are connected to rigid drawbars which allow relative motion therebetween in both horizontal and vertical directions. The drawbars and the platforms have cooperable surfaces which engage when the car is being pushed and tend to align the platforms and drawbars to prevent jackknifing and derailment.

摘要： A fixed sill includes a pair of lower, outwardly extending fixed sill flanges. A generally vertical longitudinally extending support plate is integrally connected to each fixed sill flange on each side of the fixed sill. A sliding sill support is rigidly connected to each support plate. The sliding sill support includes a horizontal inwardly extending portion that also extends longitudinally inboard. The sliding sill support is located slightly below the fixed sill flange. A pair of low friction wear plates are adopted to be slipped in place upon each sliding sill support. The low friction wear plates include horizontal body portions on each side of the fixed sill upon which the sliding sill rides in moving back and forth. Each wear plate includes "U" shaped end portions which wrap around in the inner and outer ends of the sliding sill support. The wear plate is made of resilient material having a low coefficient of friction with steel and good strength in compression to withstand the load of the sliding sill.

摘要： A striker assembly for end-of-car hydraulic cushioning devices includes a housing which is connected to the shank of the coupler. The coupler shank is provided with an elongated slot which is connected to a transversely extending key carried in key supporting slots provided in vertical side walls of the housing. The key has a pair of transversely spaced notches which are engaged by vertical retaining pins supported within the housing. One of the retaining pins is movable outwardly from the housing which thereupon permits the key to be removed through one of the key supporting slots whereby the coupler is readily removable.

摘要： A railway car includes a center sill having at opposite ends thereof an end-of-car cushion installation, each including a hydraulic cushioning device having a cylinder retained in a cushion pocket by a fixed stop comprising a pair of transversely aligned apertures in a center sill with a stop block carried in said apertures and welded to said sill. The cylinder includes a base plate which is secured between said stop block and a pair of removable stop brackets on said sill. A yoke and coupler arrangement includes a laterally projecting wall which with a pair of removable stop brackets on opposite sides of the yoke forms a pair of spring pockets in which leaf springs are supported and which after a draft impact return the device to a neutral position.
