摘要: The present disclosure relates generally to a sliding seal between two components. The sliding seal includes a first seal section and an uncoupled second seal section which allows the first and second seal sections to move relative to one another during relative movement between the two components. A wave spring and/or a rope seal is disposed between the first and second seal sections biases the first and second seal sections away from one another.

摘要: A seal assembly for a gas turbine engine may include a seal body coupled to an engine static structure of the gas turbine engine and a seal seat insert coupled to a radially extending portion of a shaft of the gas turbine engine. The seal body may be generally configured to be biased into contact with the seal seat insert to provide a sealing pressure between the seal body and the seal seat insert. In various embodiments, the seal seat insert is made from a ceramic material or a ceramic matrix composite.

Support plate is radially extended across from rotor disc and includes plurality of first circular portions concentric with rotation axis of rotor disc and plurality of second circular portions radially interposed between first circular portions. Several of first circular portions bear projecting elements and second circular portions are more deformable, along radial directions, than first circular portions in manner to allow relative movements between first circular portions when support plate is subjected to action of thermal gradients.

摘要: A seal system may include a static housing, a carbon seal positioned in the static housing, a runner having a sealing surface aligned with the carbon seal, a number of electromagnets positioned in the static housing, and a controller circuitry. The controller circuitry may control a variable flow of electric current to control an electromagnetic field respectively generated by each of the electromagnets. The controller circuitry may variably apply the electromagnetic field to move at least one of the carbon seal or the runner and correspondingly adjust an applied force loading of an interface of the carbon seal and the sealing surface of the runner.

摘要: A blade outer air seal assembly includes a support structure. A blade outer air seal has a plurality of segments that extend circumferentially about an axis and mounted in the support structure. At least two of the segments have a first wall circumferentially spaced from a second wall. A base portion extends from the first wall to the second wall. A recess is arranged in at least one of the first wall and the second wall. An intersegment seal is arranged between the at least two segments. The intersegment seal has a circumferentially extending portion and a radially extending tab. The radially extending tab extends into the recess to define at least two cavities within the recess.

摘要: A gas turbine spacer disk includes a disk portion, a rim portion, a first fillet, and a second fillet. The disk portion is disposed about a rotational axis. The rim portion is disposed about the disk portion. An outer face of the rim portion defines a plurality grooves extending circumferentially about the rotational axis. The first fillet transitions from the rim portion to a first side of the disk portion. The second fillet transitions from the rim portion to a second side of the disk portion. The plurality of grooves includes a pair of first grooves having a first diameter and a pair of second grooves having a second diameter that is less than the first diameter. A first one of the first grooves overlaps in an axial direction with the first fillet. A second one of the first grooves overlaps in the axial direction with the second fillet.
