摘要： Method and apparatus for decoding a transmitted signal by a receiver in a MIMO system into a first estimate component for estimating a first signal, a first interference component indicating interference resulting from a correlation relationship among a set of signals to be transmitted, and a first noise component. A base station generates the transmitted signal from the set of signals through a coding process, the coding process defining a correlation relationship amongst the set of signals. The correlation information about the correlation relationship is transmitted to the receiver directly or by a dedicated reference symbol. The decoding is performed by determining a linear receiver filter for the first signal in accordance with the correlation information, and de-correlating the first signal and interferences.

摘要： To feedback MIMO channel conditions, a codeword from a codebook is selected. To reduce signalling, the codewords are organized into codeword subsets. The receiver signals an index of a codeword into a current codeword subset previously made known to the transmitter. The current codeword subset is adaptively selected based on a threshold criterion. For example, if the best codeword from the current codeword subset is not sufficiently similar to the best codeword in the full codebook, a switch in the codeword subset is made.

摘要： In accordance with an embodiment, a method of operating a multi-output wireless transmitter includes determining a precoded data stream based on input data, where the determining includes determining a signal to interference plus noise ratio (SINR) of a plurality of receivers, determining a channel gain to each of the plurality of receivers, and maximizing a sum of utility functions, wherein each utility function is proportional to the SINR of each of the plurality of receivers at low SINR values and asymptotically approaches a constant value at high SINR values. The precoded data stream is transmitted on the multi-output wireless transmitter.
