    摘要: A valve actuator torque limiter (103) includes a moveable shaft (208) moveable two ways in an axial direction and, in use, rotatable to cause rotation of a valve actuator drive shaft (202). The limiter further includes a brake disc (214) mounted on the moveable shaft; a first friction device (216A) located to a first side of the brake disc, and a second friction device (216B) located to a second side. In use, contact between the brake disc and the first or the second friction device stops a motor (302) rotating the moveable shaft. The limiter also includes a casing (102) housing at least the brake disc, the first friction device and the second friction device, and an adjusting arrangement (224A, 224B) for adjusting a position of the first friction device and/or the second friction device relative to the brake disc. The adjusting arrangement is operable from outside the casing.

    摘要: A braking system for retarding rotation of a wheel includes a rotor having two opposing rotor sides, wherein the rotor is coupled to the wheel. The braking system also includes a knuckle rotatably coupled to the rotor, a caliper disposed relative to the knuckle, and first and second friction pads. Each friction pad is positioned relative to one of the rotor sides. The friction pads are housed within the caliper, which includes a hydraulic piston positioned to engage one of the friction pads. Movement of the hydraulic piston engages the friction pads with the respective rotor sides to retard the wheel. The braking system also includes a spacer disposed between the caliper and the knuckle and a fastener that fixes the caliper and the spacer to the knuckle. The spacer generates a wedging effect between the caliper and the knuckle when the rotation of the wheel is being retarded.

    摘要: The invention relates to a friction brake which can be used for a shaft and a bearing part that can be rotated in relation to each other about a rotational axis (3). The friction brake comprises two brake elements: the first brake element has a first friction surface (24) and has to be mechanically connected to the bearing part, and the second brake element has a second friction surface (25) and has to be mechanically connected to the shaft. The connectible and disconnectable dynamic effect of an actuation mechanism forces the two brake elements against each other during a braking action or stop in such a manner that the two friction surfaces (24, 25) rest one on the other and contact each other in the area of a contact surface (29, 30). The contact surface (29, 30) covers only a part of every friction surface (24, 25) at any point in time during a braking action or stop. The relative position of the contact surface (29, 30) in relation to any of the two friction surfaces (24, 25) changes during a braking action.

    摘要: A cast iron brake caliper with improved fatigue life, and a process and process equipment for pre-stressing a cast iron brake caliper to provide improved fatigue life, is provided. In the process, a load is applied to a cast iron caliper, where the load is high enough to locally yield and plastically deform the cast iron material, but not high enough to cause material failure, such as cracking. Upon load removal, residual compressive stresses in the cast iron caliper lower the mid-point of the stress range the plastically-deformed region of the caliper sees during in-service use, and thereby lowers the peak stress seen in this region, increasing fatigue life. The process permits a cast iron brake caliper to be designed to use less material and thus fit within constrained wheel rim envelopes, without the need to resort to high cost materials or other alternative design strategies.

    摘要: A brake structure for a wheel rotating device is disclosed, which comprises a motor provided in a wheel and is driven for rotating the wheel, and a braking mechanism for actuating brake to brake the wheel. The motor includes: a motor housing; a stator positioned in and fixed to the motor housing; and a rotor positioned in the motor housing and facing to the stator. The braking mechanism includes: a brake rotor to rotate with the wheel; frictional members to be in contact with the brake rotor for generation of braking force; a pressing force generating unit for generating pressing force of the frictional members so that the frictional members are urged to and pressed against the brake rotor by supplying brake fluid through a brake fluid passage to transmit fluid pressure; and a housing for the pressing force generating unit. The brake fluid passage is formed inside a wall of the motor housing, and is connected to a brake fluid supply port provided in the housing for the pressing force generating unit.
