This application relates to recombinant human interferon-like proteins. In one embodiment a recombinant protein created by gene shuffling technology is described having enhanced anti-viral and anti-proliferative activities in comparison to naturally occurring human interferon alpha 2b (HuIFN-α2b). The invention encompasses a polynucleotide encoding the protein and recombinant vectors and host cells comprising the polynucleotide. Preferably the polynucleotide is selected from the group of polynucleotides each having a sequence at least 93% identical to SEQ ID: No. 1 and the protein is selected from the group of proteins each having an amino acid sequence at least 85% identical to SEQ ID No: 2. The proteins and compositions comprising the proteins can be used for treatment of conditions responsive to interferon therapy, such as viral diseases and cancer.

When the physical selector is close enough to the touch screen, a block of the virtual keyboard or group of characters nearest the physical selector can be enlarged for selection by physical contact of the physical selector with the touch screen. The virtual keyboard can also be enlarged according to the position of the physical selector in a continual manner, wherein the extent of the enlargement is proportional to the proximity of the physical selector to the screen. Further, a character immediately under the physical selector can also be enlarged in order to determine intent with high reliability.

The rule-based system can include a RETE match algorithm, which can be modified to support pure object-based variable pattern matching. The LHS of a rule base can be compiled into several condition patterns, which includes a transformer integer array in order to record object variables positions. A RETE node can propagate tokens smoothly by asserting the object variable based on inheritance type hierarchy and the rules can be fired when the conditions are satisfied. The object oriented rule system can be utilized to add or remove rules at run time.
