    摘要: A thickness of each hologram lens for forming a hologram color filter is set so as to be smaller as the wavelength of light to be diffracted by each hologram lens is shorter. A thin plate glass layer is bonded to a surface of the hologram color filter such that it is in a firm contact therewith by adhesive agent and a sum of the thickness of the thin plate glass layer and thickness of the adhesive agent is smaller than the shortest focal length of the focal lengths in glass of a plurality of the hologram lenses. As a result, light diffracted and divided by the hologram color filter is focused on a picture element electrode of a corresponding color properly thereby eliminating deterioration of color reproduction due to mixing of colors. Further, upon production of the hologram color filter from hologram recording material, an influence of a fringe rotation is compensated.

    摘要: A color filter which, in a reflection type color picture projector using a polarized light component as a projection light, improve the utilization factor of light and a color picture display device using the same color filter are provided. The color filter 3 using a transmission type hologram diffracts and spectroscopically separates P polarized light components related to respective primary colors and condenses them to pixel electrodes 13r, 13g, and 13b on the side of an LCD panel 1. A reflection light which is modulated by an optical modulator 16 on the side of the LCD panel 1 and becomes S polarized light component is incident on the color filter 3. The color filter 3 transmits the S polarized light component and uses it as the projection light. Since the color filter 3 can diffract a P polarized light component at diffraction efficiency of about 100% while restricting the diffraction efficiency of S polarized light component to about 3%, which is substantially advantageous compared with diffraction of S polarized light component, the utilization factor of light can be improved

    摘要: An improved color filter and a color image display apparatus employs the filter, the color filter has a hologram device for spectrally diffracting an incident light into plural light beams of different wavelength regions and selectively converging the plural light beams on respective plural picture element electrodes corresponding to the different wavelength regions. The hologram device has such characteristics that S-polarized components of the incident light are diffracted at a maximum diffraction efficiency at a predetermined incident angle of the incident light, and P-polarized components of the incident light are diffracted as such that a difference between the maximum diffraction efficiency of the S-polarized components and the diffraction efficiency of the P-polarized components is not less than 30%, and the diffracted S-polarized components are formed as the plural light beams to be converged on the plural picture element electrodes corresponding to the different wavelength regions.

    摘要: A noise reduction circuit is designed to eliminate noise in a color signal of a color video signal without introducing distortion in the waveform of the color signal. The noise reduction circuit is especially designed to eliminate the noise included in a high-frequency component of the color signal. A first circuit passes as an output thereof a signal obtained from the high-frequency component during a time period which is in accordance with a point in a luminance signal of the color video signal where a change in luminance occurs. A second circuit adds the output of the first circuit with the color signal from which the high-frequency component has been eliminated, so as to produce a color signal from which the noise has been substantially eliminated.
