    Abstract: The present invention discloses a method for encoding/decoding a video signal and an apparatus for the method. More specifically, a method for decoding a video signal comprises generating a residual block of a current block by performing entropy decoding on the video signal; if size of the current block is smaller than a predetermined first size, parsing a transform skip flag which indicates whether a transform skip is applied to the current block; determining whether to parse a primary transform flag which indicates whether a primary transform is applied to the current block; if it is determined to parse the primary transform flag, parsing the primary transform flag; and if the primary transform flag indicates that a primary transform is applied to the current block, generating a primary inverse transformed transform block of the current block by performing a primary inverse transform to the residual block.

    Abstract: An image decoding method according to the present document comprises the steps of: acquiring, from a bitstream, image information including prediction-related information and residual information; deriving an inter prediction mode for a current block on the basis of the prediction-related information; deriving motion information of the current block on the basis of the inter prediction mode, wherein the motion information includes an L0 motion vector for L0 prediction and an L1 motion vector for L1 prediction; generating prediction samples of the current block on the basis of the motion information; deriving residual samples on the basis of the residual information; and generating reconstructed samples on the basis of the prediction samples and the residual samples.

    Abstract: A video decoding method performed by a decoding apparatus comprises deriving control points (CPs) for the current block; obtaining motion vectors for the CPs; deriving a motion vector of a sub-block or a sample unit in the current block on the basis of the obtained motion vectors; deriving a prediction sample for the current block on the basis of the derived motion vector; and generating a reconstruction sample on the basis of the prediction sample. The method enables effective performance of inter prediction through the motion vectors (transformation prediction), not only when an image in the current block is moved in a plane, but also when the image in the current block is rotated, zoomed in, zoomed out, or transformed into a parallelogram. Accordingly, the amount of data for the residual signal for the current block can be eliminated or reduced, and the overall coding efficiency can be improved.

    Abstract: The present invention discloses an image coding/decoding method and an apparatus for the method. More specifically, a method for filtering an image by a decoding apparatus comprises deriving boundaries of a block divided into quad-tree plus binary-tree structure; determining an edge among boundaries of the block to which de-blocking filtering is applied; determining a type of de-blocking filtering to be applied to the edge; and performing de-blocking filtering to a picture sample restored according to the de-blocking filtering type, wherein the edge or the type of de-blocking filtering is determined by considering width or height of the block.

    Abstract: According to embodiments of the present document, a prediction procedure can be performed for image video coding, and the prediction procedure can comprise merge mode motion vector differences (MMVD) and symmetric motion vector differences (SMVD) according inter prediction. The inter prediction can be performed on the basis of reference pictures of a current picture, and types of the reference pictures (e.g. a long-term reference picture, a short-term reference picture, etc.) can be considered for the inter prediction. Accordingly, performance and coding efficiency in the prediction procedure can be increased.

    Abstract: An image decoding method according to the present document may comprise: a step for deriving an inter prediction mode from encoded information; a step for constructing reference pictures lists; a step for deriving motion information including reference picture indices for symmetric motion vector differences (SMVD) on the basis of reference pictures included in the reference picture lists; and a step for generating prediction samples on the basis of the motion information. The reference picture indices for SMVD may be derived on the basis of short-term reference pictures included in the reference picture lists.
