摘要: A child restraint system including a seat back pivotably connected to a seat bottom and having a fabric cover thereon. The seat back includes two oblong openings defined therein which are covered by mesh portions provided on the fabric cover to allow for the improved flow of air between the area behind and to the side of the seat back and the area in the vicinity of the torso of the child occupying the child restraint system and to allow for the easy connection of the child restraint system to the seat of the motor vehicle. A guide providing multiple possible positions for a shoulder belt of the motor vehicle seat belt system is provided on the seat back. The guide may be fixed with a plurality of fixed channels thereon for receiving and retaining the shoulder belt or the guide may be movable relative to the seat back, being yieldingly held in place by a spring and a pattern of serrations defined on the guide. The tiltable connection of the seat back to the seat bottom is accomplished by a pivot pin received within each of the seat back and the seat bottom. A locking member is selectively receivable within bores defined in the seat back and the seat bottom to prevent further pivotable movement.

摘要: The present invention is directed to a "fold-out" or integral child seat having a mechanism interconnecting a seatback member, a headrest member and a seat member for causing coordinated movement therebetween. When it is desired to deploy the integral child seat, the seatback member is moved to a tilted position and the headrest member is elevated while the seat member is moved to a lowered position for establishing an upright sitting position. Additionally, the integral child seat may be deployed to a reclined position wherein the seatback member is automatically moved to a second tilted position and the headrest member is moved to a second elevated position in coordination with the movement of the seat member to a second lowered position. As a result, movement of the integral child seat between its stowed and first and second deployed positions can be accomplished with relative ease and convenience to the person attempting such movement.

摘要: A child restraint seat (22) is disposed in a cavity (20) of the backrest (14) in an adult passenger seat (10) for restraining a child in a vehicle. The child seat (22) comprises a seat portion (24) pivotal between a folded position recessed in the cavity (20) forming a lower portion of the adult backrest (14) and an unfolded position resting against the adult seat portion (12). A child backrest (26) is disposed in the cavity (20) and pivotal between a first position parallel with the inclined position of the adult backrest (14) and a second child backrest inclined position. The child seat (22) further includes a headrest (54) pivotal in an arcuate path about an axis of the adult backrest (14) between a folded position forming the upper portion of the adult backrest (14) and an unfolded position raised above the backrest (14) and forming an extended child backrest portion (26).

摘要: An adjustable child restraint car seat comprises a base which can be attached to the seat of a vehicle by the vehicles lap belts. A seat having a reclinable back portion is latch locked onto a pivot which is swivel mounted on the base. A first adjustable means for holding the reclinable back in fixed relation to the seat portion and a second adjustable means for holding the pivot in fixed relation to the base allow reconfiguration of the child restraint car seat as required.

摘要: A superstructure, functioning as the car seat, is retractably telescoped into a base member when the transporter is to be positioned upon the seat of an automobile, the child being strapped within the car seat portion of the superstructure. The transporter is thereafter easily removed from the automobile, and the superstructure is slidably extended from the base member to convert it into a stroller, and is maintained in a first extended position away from the base member by a locking mechanism. The transporter is converted back into a compact car seat, by unlocking the locking device, by applying two discrete motions for safety reasons, to cause the transporter to be collapsed, before insertion back into the automobile. During the collapsing of the transporter, a pair of wheel covers are automatically actuated, to cover the rims of the wheels to prevent any debris picked up by the wheels from being deposited on the car seats, and additionally to stabilize the transporter upon the seat of the automobile. The superstructure and base member are each configured of light weight, non-collapsible, structures in contrast with the collapsible tubular frameworks generally utilized in present day strollers; thus manufacturing costs are reduced.
