    摘要: An electronic timepiece in which a higher frequency signal from a frequency standard is divided down to a lower frequency drive signal by a frequency converter. The drive signal is applied through a driver circuit to an electro-mechanical transducer which actuates time-representing members to indicate time. A control means is coupled to intermediate stages of the frequency converter and produces higher frequency drive signals. At least one contact plate made of flexible, electrically conductive material is adapted to be depressed from outside the watch case through a recess formed therein whereby the control means is connected to the driver circuit to apply the higher frequency drive signals to the electro-mechanical transducer thereby rapidly advancing the time-representing members.

    摘要: An analog quartz timepiece having a manually operated external control member, and a correction signal generation circuit controlled by the external control member to generate low speed and high speed correction signals when the external control member is actuated for a short period of time and for a predetermined time interval, respectively, by which a stepping motor is driven at a selected speed to perform time correction. The timepiece alo includes a click mechanism operative to shift an hours hand step-wise from any optional position without affecting a minutes hand and a seconds hand. The timepiece further includes a seconds zero-reset mechanism operative to reset the seconds hand to zero.

    摘要: A keyboard having a matrix of keys or pushbuttons arranged in a matrix is ovided with a plurality of stationary electrical contacts arranged in a similar matrix. Movable contacts operated by the pushbuttons are provided by a plurality of ladder-shaped flexible conductive members. Each ladder-shaped member extends along one row of pushbuttons and has a "rung" of the ladder extending through the space between a pushbutton and its associated stationary contact. The body of the keyboard is provided with grooves for inserting the ladder-shaped members and the spacing between these grooves is such that the rung portions of the member are flexed upwardly against the pushbutton and out of contact with the stationary contact when the pushbutton is in the normal position. Each flexed rung exhibits a bistable characteristic so that as a pushbutton is depressed, a point is reached at which less force is required to further depress the pushbutton. The stationary contact extends upwardly a sufficient distance to prevent the rung from assuming the second stable state. Hence, when the pushbutton is released the rung returns to its normal position and in doing so moves the pushbutton back to its normal position.

    摘要: Electronic digital watches may be placed in an electrically non-conductive watch case which may be molded or cast plastic, together with an electrically conductive retainer casing, and the other components usually found in such electronic digital watches including an operating and digital display module, at least one activator post and an activator switch element for each activator post. In one embodiment, the electrically conductive retainer casing retains the inner end of each activator post out of contact with its respective activator switch element, but is flexible so as to permit momentary contact of the post with the switch element when desired. In another embodiment, a tab formed in the retainer casing may be momentarily brought into contact with an activator switch element by pressure against the activator post, without the post itself being in the switch circuit. In a third embodiment, the retainer casing is an electrically conductive elastomeric shell, and the activator post deforms a portion of the side thereof into contact with the switch element. The battery or batteries within the electronic digital watch case are maintained in electrical contact with the operating and digital display module so as to assure continuous operation of the watch.

    摘要: A safety feature for a function control circuit particularly adapted for use with timing circuitry adapted to produce a time based signal is provided. A function signal circuit is adapted to produce either a first or a second function selecting signal. A multi-position switch is coupled to the function signal circuit and is adapted to remain in a quiescent position. The multi-position switch is further adapted to be manually displaced in a first direction to effect producing of a first function selecting signal by said function signal circuit and is further adapted to be manually displaced in a direction opposite to said first direction to effect producing by said function signal circuit of a second function selecting signal. An inhibit circuit is coupled to the timing circuit for receiving the time based signal and is also coupled to the function control circuit and multi-position switch and in response to displacement of the multi-position switch in the first direction inhibits producing of the second function selecting signal in response to displacement of said multi-position switch in the opposite direction within a predetermined interval of time after the multi-position switch means is returned from displacement in the first direction.

    摘要: A multi-position switch particularly adaptable for an electronic watch comprises a movable plate or disk mounted within a cup-like body and rotatable about an axis to different positions for accomplishing various setting or operating modes. Fixed contacts on the inside of the switch plate are spaced apart but electrically connected so that when the plate is rotated to certain positions relative to its central axis the contacts are aligned for engagement with a particular pair of a series of terminals located on the inside planar surface of the switch body and connected through the body to the internal circuitry of the device. The interconnection of certain pairs of terminals accomplished by the contacts activates internal circuitry of the device to produce the desired operating function or mode.
