Abstract: A subcutaneous and cutaneous electrocardiography monitor configured for self-optimizing ECG data compression is provided. The monitors include a housing, an electrocardiographic front end circuit, a memory, and a micro-controller configured to: obtain a series of electrode voltage values based on the sensed electrocardiographic signals; use a plurality of selection schemes to choose one or more of a plurality of compression algorithms associated with each of the selection scheme for testing; test the selected compression algorithms including applying the compression algorithms chosen using each of the selection schemes to a segment of the electrode voltage series; analyze results of the testing; select one or more compression algorithms chosen using one of the selection schemes for compressing at least a portion of the electrode voltage series based on the analysis; obtain a compression of at least the portion of the electrode voltage series; and store the compression within the memory.

Abstract: A system and method for performing an electrocardiogram is described herein. The system may include one or more of an electrode strip, a data recorder, a connector, one or more computing platforms, and/or other components. The electrode strip may include multiple electrodes configured to provide signals conveying information associated with electrocardiograms. The multiple electrodes may be integrated into the electrode strip. The data recorder may be configured to receive and record information associated with electrocardiograms. Information associated with electrocardiograms may be communicated from the electrode strip to the data recorder via a connector. The connector may include a cableless connector. In some implementations, the information associated with electrocardiograms may be transmitted to one or more computing platforms.

The ECG electrode patches being configured to be attached to a plurality positions on a human body. The wireless transmitter is configured to transmit the ECG monitoring signals to a receiving device for recording or displaying the ECG monitoring signal.

Abstract: The present invention provides a bio-electrode composition including a silsesquioxane bonded to a sulfonimide salt, wherein the sulfonimide salt is shown by the following general formula (1): wherein R1 represents a linear, branched, or cyclic alkylene group having 1 to 20 carbon atoms that may have an aromatic group, an ether group, or an ester group, or an arylene group having 6 to 10 carbon atoms; Rf represents a linear, branched, or cyclic alkyl group having 1 to 4 carbon atoms containing at least one fluorine atom; M+ is an ion selected from a lithium ion, a sodium ion, a potassium ion, and a silver ion. This can form a living body contact layer for a bio-electrode that is excellent in electric conductivity and biocompatibility, light-weight, manufacturable at low cost, and free from large lowering of the electric conductivity even though it is wetted with water or dried.

Abstract: A wearable arrhythmia monitoring and treatment device for improving confidence in determined arrhythmias prior to treatment includes a plurality of sensing electrodes, one or more therapy electrodes, and an electrode signal acquisition circuit having a plurality of inputs. The electrode signal acquisition circuit is configured to sense a respective signal provided by each of a plurality of different pairings of the plurality of sensing electrodes. The wearable arrhythmia monitoring and treatment device includes a monitoring and detection circuit including at least one processor configured to analyze the respective signals provided by each of the plurality of different pairings of the plurality of sensing electrodes, change a confidence level in a determined arrhythmia condition based on the respective signals provided by the plurality of different pairings of the plurality of sensing electrodes, and initiate a therapy to the patient via the one or more therapy electrodes based on the confidence level.

Abstract: An electrode system include a flowable and cohesive surface contact element comprising a hydrophilic polymer swollen with an electrolyte fluid, the contact element having a Q′ ratio of at least 5 as defined by the equation Q ′ = W W W G wherein WG is the dry weight of the hydrophilic polymer and WW is weight of water in the sample after absorption of the electrolyte fluid comprising water and an electrolyte salt. The surface contact element can consist essentially of the hydrophilic polymer swollen by the electrolyte fluid. Another electrode system includes a contact element including a crosslinked hydrophilic polymer matrix. The contact element has a Q′ ratio of at least 5 as defined by the equation Q ′ = W W W G . The contact elements can also have a Q′ ratio of at least 6, at least 7, at least 10 or even at least 11.

Abstract: In certain examples, methods and structures are directed to an apparatus having a plurality of stretchable leads, with each of the plurality of stretchable leads including an associated electrode which is to receive electrical signals generated in response to a subject-s heart and to pass the received electrical signals along a respective one of plurality of stretchable leads. The apparatus also includes a patch integrating the stretchable substrate with the plurality of stretchable leads and with the patch having an area for circuitry to reside for collecting the electrical signals passed along each of the plurality of stretchable leads, wherein each of the plurality of stretchable leads is to be on a subject side of the patch. In more particular examples, the circuitry is used to provide a multi-lead ECG based on the electrical signals.
