摘要： A railway car consists of articulated sections each including a substantially identical upright longitudinally extending truss structure on which vehicles or other cargo is suspended. The truss structure is the primary structural member extending between the car trucks and also serves as the cargo retaining member during transport operation. The truss structure is provided with suitable beams containing brackets to which the cargo is connected and suspended therefrom. The cargo may be in the form of vehicles which are initially connected to pallets or fixtures secured to the underframe members of the vehicle. The fixture is provided with brackets which interengage the brackets on the truss structure to suspend the vehicles directly thereon. The fixture is constructed so that a crane or other material handling device, by engaging and lifting the fixture simultaneously, rotates the fixture and the vehicle into the desired position relative to the truss, the loading operation consisting merely of hanging the fixture and vehicles on the truss so that both are removably retained thereon in suspended relation.

摘要： A carrier assembly for transporting a vehicle or other object of an automobile or the like wherein the carrier includes a slideable platform to lift the object into transporting position. The platform is slideably mounted in a frame adapted to be attached to the transporting vehicle in a sloped orientation to readily effect reciprocating movement of the platform from the ground to the transported position and vice versa. A hand crank and cable is attached to the frame to control the desired movement of the platform upwardly or downwardly. The crank and cable can also be used to secure a vehicle or other object to the carrier platform and at the same time secure carrier platform to the carrier frame.

摘要： A cargo handling and transportation system includes a truss type of frame on which vehicles are suspended upon leaving the manufacturer''s assembly line. The frame is connected to a longitudinal beam which moves in a track and transports the vehicles from the factory to a means of ground or highway transportation. In loading a railway car, the truss and vehicles thereon are removed from the longitudinal beam by a crane and are lowered through the open roof of the car into connecting relation with brackets disposed within the car so that the frame and cargo are ready for shipment. Similarly, the truss frames may be removed from the highway trailers or railway cars by lift mechanisms which shift the frames into aircraft or into holds of ships for further transportation. The longitudinal beams are movable in tracks below the ground, and may be removably connected to the lower ends of the truss to be transported therewith so that they may be guided in suitable track members in a ramp loading arrangement, such as may be desired for loading aircraft. The frames also may be stored within the hull of a ship or airplane fuselage in similar tracks which are engaged by the longitudinal beams removably connected to the lower ends of the truss frame.

摘要： A snowmobile trailer has a wheeled supporting frame which is of a U-shaped configuration to straddle the snowmobile body in loading. The frame is swingable, preferably on the axis of a pair of aligned wheels, and has main supporting pads on the outer (rear) ends of the U-frame disposed beyond the axis of swinging and adapted to underlie and support the bottom of the forward part of the body when first tilted downward and then lifted upwardly somewhat. The sides of the frame disposed forwardly of the swinging axis carry adjustable inwardly disposed hold-down members for contacting and applying pressure to longitudinal running board elements on the sides of the snowmobile when the frame is further tilted backwardly from the loading position. Lastly the yoke at the middle of the U-stem (draft connection) has an upstanding fastener which is connected to the draft or trailer element at the rear of the snowmobile, such connection being tensioned by pulling up on the rear of the body.
