Abstract: A multiple fiber push-on (MPO) optical connector is provided having a ferrule configured to house multiple optical fibers and including a stepped portion extending from at least one pair of opposing exterior surfaces of the ferrule. A one-piece housing-backpost is provided having a distal end in a connection direction and a proximal end in a cable direction. The one-piece housing-backpost is configured to receive a ferrule spring and the ferrule from the distal end. The housing-backpost includes at least one resiliently-deformable ferrule-retaining protrusion extending from a sidewall to engage the corresponding stepped portion of the ferrule. The resiliently-deformable ferrule-retaining protrusion is configured to deform towards the housing-backpost interior sidewall as the ferrule is inserted from the distal end and to extend outward against the stepped portion of the ferrule when the ferrule is seated in the housing-backpost to maintain the ferrule in the housing-backpost.

Abstract: Reversible polarity fiber optic connectors are provided having housings at least partially surrounding first and second optical ferrules with walls above and beneath the ferrules. Positioning removable elements such as latches, removable arms, or push-pull tabs on the first wall above the ferrules yields fiber optic connectors with a first polarity type, and positioning the removable elements on the second wall beneath the ferrules yields fiber optic connectors with a second, opposite polarity type. Various engagement mechanisms are provided on either the connector housing walls or on the removable elements, or both, to assist in affixing the removable element to the connector housing.

Abstract: An optical connector holding two or more LC-type optical ferrules is provided. A plural of optical connectors are ganged together into when insert into an adapter. To remove the connectors together or individually a removal tool is attachable to one or more of the connectors. The removal tool has a plural of release arms that in first position can release the fiber optic connector from the adapter receptacle. Release aim in a second position prevents the fiber optic connector from being released from the adapter receptacle. The removal tool is moved distally to actuate or retain the fiber optic connectors within their corresponding adapter receptacle.

Abstract: A LC type connector assembly with a clip on, clip off push/pull boot is described herein. A cable boot is recessed to accommodate one or more tabs of the clip-on push/pull boot, while the cable boot has one or more protrusions for securing the cable boot to a back body of the connector. Thus, the push/pull clip is integrated with a cable boot assembly that allows a user to apply a distal force to remove or insert the connector assembly into the adapter housing. The push/pull clip is configured for use to release a LC connector type from a receptacle port with or without an anchor device within the port.

Abstract: A multi-fiber, fiber optic connector is interchangeable between a male connector and a female connector by including a pin retainer having a releasable retention device configured to lock the pins in place within the retainer. The retention device may be opened, for example, with a release tool, to free the retention pins for removal of the pins. Abstract: Optical fiber connectors and adapters are disclosed. A connector assembly includes a sleeve seal positioned near a proximal end of the connector, the seal fits over an alignment sleeve contained within an adapter. The connector may include a heat shrinkable tubing covering a distal end of the connector to prevent ingress of moisture and debris. The sleeve seal is compressed by a proximal face of a connector plug frame. The sleeve seal contains a plural of sealing or mating surfaces to prevent the ingress of moisture through the adapter opening into the plug frame housing a ferrule. The adapter further comprises a washer-seal that is placed between an adapter flange face and a module face plate that secures the adapter with connectors therein to a rack of adapters.
