    摘要： To provide a sight controllable display device that is capable of switching a regular display and a concealed display easily. A display panel and a modulator are disposed between two polarizing plates. The display panel performs a regular display drive. Meanwhile, the modulator drives to operate at a speed faster than twice the speed of the display panel and modulate the display image of the display panel. When displaying an image that is desired to be concealed, the period where the modulator is not in action is selected and viewed by a shutter. By stopping the action of the modulator, the regular display can be viewed as it is without the shutter.

The second supporting substrate has the alignment in both regions in the same direction.

    摘要： A liquid crystal panel has a first layer of liquid crystal sandwiched between an upper substrate and a lower substrate and oriented in a first direction included within a plane substantially parallel to at least one of the upper substrate and the lower substrate. Liquid crystal molecules of the first liquid crystal in proximity of the upper substrate has a tilt angle in a reversed direction to that of liquid crystal molecules of the first liquid crystal in proximity of the lower substrate. A second layer of parallel-oriented liquid crystal is located in parallel to the first liquid crystal layer and has an orientation direction which is included within a plane of the second layer and is orthogonal to the first direction.
