摘要: A film stretcher that transports a film material in a predetermined transport direction while holding an end of the film material in a width direction of the film material to stretch the film material in the width direction includes a holding unit that includes a stretching roll having an annular groove formed on an outer periphery of the stretching roll and an endless wire fitted in the annular groove over a predetermined rotation angle range of the annular groove in a circular arc shape so that the end of the film material in the width direction of the film material is pinched. The stretching roll is inclined so as to open toward a downstream side in the transport direction of the film material. The holding unit transports the film material in the transport direction while pinching the film material using the stretching roll and the endless wire, whereby the film material is stretched in the width direction.

摘要: The invention provides a foamed body of thermoplastic resin having a high expansion ratio, desired shape and cells of desired diameter, especially fine cells. The foamed body of thermoplastic resin is produced by filling the thermoplastic resin containing a foaming agent into a cavity 31 of a mold 2a and thereafter enlarging the cavity 31 to expand the resin. In this process, the cavity 31 is completely filled with the resin as melted and containing the foaming agent, then held in its shape as filled with the resin and enlarged to an increased final cavity width upon the average temperature filled in the cavity 31 reaching the range from the melting point of the resin to the melting point plus 30° C.

摘要: An electrostatically driven latchable actuator system has an actuator and a pair of side effectors on opposite ends of the actuator. The actuator is resiliently supported to a substrate and is movable along a linear axis between two operative positions as being electrically attracted to one of the side effectors. A latch mechanism is provided to mechanically latch the actuator at either of the operative positions. The side effectors are movably towards and away from the actuator along the linear axis between a normal position and a shifted position close to the actuator. Both of the side effectors are also resiliently supported to the substrate to be movable towards the actuator by being electrostatically attracted thereto and away from the actuator by resiliency. The moving side effector is interlocked to the latch mechanism through a mechanical link so as to unlatch the actuator in response to one of the side effectors being attracted to the actuator, and allow the actuator to move from one operative position to the other operative position to be again latched thereat.
