Abstract:
A dampening device for use in a dampening system that operates to dampen and slow the movement of a closing door thereby reducing noise and the risk of injury, the dampening device including a piston and dampening apparatus that are moveable within a cylinder and an anchoring apparatus, the dampening device attached to various positions along a door frame or door panel.
Abstract:
A hinge assembly (20) including a first magnetic member (21) and a second magnetic member (22) is described. The polarities of opposing end surfaces of the first magnetic member and the second member are different. The second magnetic member is configured for rotating relative to the first magnetic member to generate a magnetic moment. In addition, an exemplary portable electronic device (100) equipped with the hinge assembly is also described.
Abstract:
A hinge assembly includes a first connecting member, a second connecting member, a first fixing member, and a second fixing member. The first fixing member can extend through the first connecting member and the second connecting member. The first fixing member includes a first magnet. The second fixing member can extend through the second connecting member and be received in the first connecting member. The second fixing member includes a second magnet. The first fixing member is engaged with the second fixing member under the magnet force between the first magnet and the second magnet.
Abstract:
Two or more panels of a power-operated folding door are supported by a novel articulated arm assembly that ensures that the door closes tightly against a wall-mounted seal and easily opens. The articulated arm assembly includes a connector with two spaced-apart pivot points about which two adjoining arms of the assembly can rotate as the door opens and closes. The two pivot points allow the panels to readily fold up and store more compactly when the door is open. To provide an airtight seal where two leading panels come together at the center of the doorway, one or more control mechanisms coupled to the articulated arm assembly ensure that the leading panels overlap when the door is closed.
Abstract:
An elevator door mover device (40) includes a threaded ferromagnetic shaft (42). Magnetic movers (48) associated with doors (26) generate magnetic fields that cause the doors to move responsive to rotation of the shaft (42). In one example, a controller (46) controls a speed of a motor (44) that drives the shaft (42). The controller (46) in some examples also selectively controls the strength of the magnetic fields of the movers, which provides more customizable door performance.
Abstract:
An electronic device having a first body, a second body and a hinge is provided. The first body and the second body are pivoted through the hinge. The hinge includes a sleeve, at least one first positioning member, a shaft and a second positioning member. The first positioning member is inserted into the sleeve. A first end of the shaft passes through the sleeve. The second positioning member is inserted into the shaft. The second positioning member and the first positioning member are linked through magnetic force to fix the position of the shaft.
Abstract:
A sliding door for selectively opening and closing an opening is disclosed. The door is comprised of a door panel having a top, a bottom, a leading edge and a trailing edge. The door panel translates laterally relative to the opening between a closed position and an open position. The door has a guide, a guide follower, and a reset member. The guide is mounted to a mounting surface located between the upper and lower extent of the opening, and comprises a first end disposed proximate the opening and a second end opposite the first end. The guide follower is attached to the door panel and disposed in operable engagement with the guide. The reset member is disposed proximate the second end of the guide. The reset member has a surface that is angularly oriented to facilitate operable engagement and alignment of the guide follower with the guide.
Abstract:
A standard doorstop is a solid unit that is screwed into the wood baseboard/wall If hit with a vacuum, foot, and or any other objects, it tears away from the baseboard causing damage to the wooden base board/wall. The Break Free Doorstop consists of two pieces a metal mounting base with screw (to mount into baseboard) and a magnet that has been inserted into the doorstop itself to be attached to the mounting base. With this different feature that no solid doorstop can offer, the Break Free Doorstop if hit by a vacuum, foot, or other objects, will break free from the mounting base, causing no damage or repairs to the wooden baseboard/wall. When removed from mounting base it is easily snapped back onto mounting base.
Abstract:
A device having a magnetically rotary cover mechanism is disclosed. Coupled magnets are pivotally mounted on one side of a cover cap of the device, and an attractive or repulsive force between the coupled magnets controls the cover cap to close an opening. The present invention uses the coupled magnets to replace the conventional elastic members for controlling the cover cap to close the opening, thereby simplifying and saving the process and time for assembling the device.
Abstract:
A support system includes a frame member and a cover magnetically coupled to one another proximate an edge of the cover and in an aligned state. The cover is rotatable with respect to the frame member without any structural coupling therebetween while the frame member and cover remain substantially in the aligned state. A method of supporting a cover with respect to a frame includes magnetically attracting the cover and frame to each other proximate an edge of the cover.
